"The host is very attentive and eager for you to enjoy your stay. We liked being in the country. The kitchen is well equipped and the property is very close to a big grocery store. I think this location gives you good access to nearby areas (Serra Mamede for example) well as the points of interest in Portalegre. We really enjoyed the textile museum. "Lovely converted watermill, with a working history. Complete privacy in a nature park but still fairly close to Portalegre for services. Nice terraces, a mini swimming pool for cooling down and a refreshing stream. The owners are very welcoming."

"We spent seven days here in April, 2023. This is a lovely village with everything you might need for a great time. Restaurants were exceptionally good. The people were very nice and outgoing. Many spoke English. Lots of good walking in the area. We'd go back to this area in a heartbeat. If you go don't miss nearby Marvao castle and village. As for the house, there are 38 steep steps from the lower level up to the terrace. The middle flight is steepest and has no handrail. The house is 3 levels...

"Clean, friendly, room ok with lovely balcony and view. No lift Dinner ok for me.(Pork chops) not for my wife . Breakfast ok but coffee awful. I had fresh fruit, yogor, toast, juice and tea. Hot was scrambled egg (it ran out( and tiny sausages. No vale la pena. Super lady and young M an at reception and bar."

We managed to park right outside the hotel (4 spaces) but there is also a public car park in the same area. A walk around the walls and castle of Marvão is thoroughly recommended - marvellous 360 views!"

"The hotel was nothing short of beautiful.The receptionist was very accomidating, nice and helpfull. We had a delicious dinner at the hotel resturant, and on top of the tasty dinner with unique dishes of the area, staying at the hotel will earn you a 10 percent discount at the resturant. The river right next to the hotel was a great and fun place to hangout with family and their was a very easy access to it through the hotel. Would definently recomend a stay here."
