Room was lovely and roomey for two friends on a serendipitous 1 night adventure. Great heating and fancy tap which gives you hot water, mineral water, sparkling water and mild sparkling water! "Checking in was easy and the staff were very helpful and nice. Breakfast was good. The property itself seemed run down. Stairwells were a bit dirty and doors that said “always keep closed” were always open. Also the side entry door we used was never locked, so not sure if that’s a safety issue. Our room was also VERY hot inside. We didn’t know why, the heat was not on. We had to open our room door and the window to get airflow. It was so uncomfortably hot inside (no AC). "

"Hotel Herzog Georg is a real gem hidden in rural Germany. The size of room is larger than a standard European room and we were very happy to have 2 large size doubles for my wife and 15 yr old son. Breakfast was massive European style and quality was superb. Lots of walking opportunities around town with site seeing and hiking just a short drive away. A couple notes, not much English spoken here, or in town at all. People were extremely gracious and we didnt have any issues, but just be aware. Also there are limited hours for the reception and if you think you will even be close to showing up after 7pm local time, reach out and coordinate how to get room access. We did not do this (our fault) and struggled to get ahold of the reception after hours with our US phones. Overall I would def stay here again if I was coming to the area."
