1 block from Copacabana Beach and The Fort (which you can enter free with your key card sleeve by the way), you cannot beat the location. The lobby is beautiful. The staff is amazing and all speak English. They have good drinks and snacks to buy in the lobby as well as beach toys such as soccer balls for kids to borrow. The $7 per day breakfast is huge and high value. The rooms were ok—I needed to extra-scrub the bathroom myself as I have gotten sick from hotel bathroom mold before. They had no fitted sheets on the beds so my flat bottom sheet kept sliding up.The A/C in the lobby and rooms and breakfast room were great. The hallways and elevators had no A/C, which I didn’t love. The rooftop pool is tiny but the deck is nice and they were retiling while we were there to improve it even more. You cannot get past Floor 1 without a key card, which I loved for safety. On busy New Years Eve, you had to have a bracelet to even enter the lobby. We had two rooms and received free Rio tote bags for each guest as well as a small comp champagne bottle and glasses. Nice surprises. In one of our rooms, the bathroom door hit the toilet, so you could not fully open it. And the bathrooms disappointingly didn’t have A/C, which I view as critical during hot Rio summers. So mixed, but it’s near family for us so we’ll likely be back. Overall a good experience and sharing this feedback to be constructive to the management!

It was a pleasure to stay here. We did have housekeeping come in quite often and also try to enter without knocking on our last day here. However, the stay was enjoyable! I would recommend highly!

When I first checked in, I was allocated a very ugly, abandoned, disgusting room in some kind of isolated wing of the hotel. My fiancé and I refused to stay there. So, we went back to the front desk with the intention of getting a refund and finding another hotel. They offer another room, this time it was a normal room, well maintained and decorated in the normal part of the hotel. I don’t know why they gave us that 1st room, but it left me with a very bad impression of the place. We changed hotels the next night because of this feeling.

First of all, the room that we booked doesn’t match with the pics, except for the Balcony. Minibar was dirty, a bottle of gatored was left inside. The toillet probably don’t see bleach for a while since you can see a yellow water mark inside. The shower has black scab between some tiles, the sink was leaking over the counter from the faucet, also some small tails were broken. I had to ask like three time to the receptionist to refill shower gel, and when they finally did it, they just refill it with water, also one day they didn’t replace the dirty towels that they removed from the room. The lobby was clean and other areas too, but staff needs to be more polite, and just a few of them speak another language than Portuguese. The most important thing there is a construction building in front of the property, and they are using pneumatic hammers, and the noise is unbearable from early morning every week day, the noise can make you really uncomfortable. Breakfast is good!

The hotel has two buildings that were connected. One older than the other. The rooms in the older one reflect the age of the building and the elevator usually has a funny smell. The rooms in the newest building are more spacious, cleaner and nicer. I still recommend this place, particularly for its location (right in the middle between Copacabana and Ipanema, from where you can decide where to go, both options within walking distance). But I highly recommend to find a room in the new building.

Clean and awesome location.
Friendly and helpful staff, friendly cleaner(special Eva), nice breakfast (not fresh if you get there earlier morning specially Monday morning) but have a lot of good choices for affordable price, awesome and safe location. One point that we didn’t like was the “obligation” to get the taxi that the guy at front door gets for you not giving to you a choice to choose what you want. Learned after the taxi driver he got for you have to give to him some money (this is not ok for me), then we decided to use just Uber. Otherwise, we had great time over there even we didn’t get a nice view from our room, expecting what was showed at the website at the reservation time.

Terrible customer service. The front desk checked someone else in on my bedroom. So I’m in my room, changing, when I hear someone swiping the card key, opening the door and walking into my room. Disappointing facilities and terrible customer service overall.

An acceptable hotel in the area
The hotel Staff was great and gentle with us. The cleaning of the room were really doubtful. The air conditioner was really dirty and the shower doors and the borders of the shower floor were with mold. They change the trim For another one that it was better but with some mold in the shower floor. Great lobby and location to Copacabana beach.

Pode ser muito bom, mas depende
Fiquei duas vezes, com o meu filho, no B&B. A primeira, de 7/12 até 11/12, foi muito boa. A segunda, de13/12 até 15/12, foi pior. Porque o quarto não tinha vista, nem varanda, e não foi bom.

It was great experience staying at Copacabana Forte! Front desk agents are amazing and customer service is excellent! They made sure that I have a great experience and made my stay very pleasant! Went above and beyond, accommodated all my requests. I didn’t speak any Portuguese and manager Jose helped me to find a Lab for my Covid test taken in order to come back to US and made sure that the info is correct. Amazing staff! If I ever come back to Brazil I will stay here again! Thank you for making my experience pleasant!

the hotel is very well located, two blocks from Copacabana beach and 4 from Ipanema. 15 min walking to General Osorio Metro Station. Sourrounded by supermarkets, bars, restaurants. However it is a basic hotel. Nice staff willing to help but my minibar was dripping, next door air conditioning was noisy. They do not do wake up calls and were not even willing to call my room at 2am when the taxi came to pick me up and taking me to the airport.

Suffered from noisy guests that the hotel were not able to sort out. Some people very inconsiderate which isn’t the hotels fault but they could have done more to get them to turn the music off at 5am.

Good point Bed room and reception were clean and the bed was big. Bad point Bathroom was dirty, could see rust in the metal parts and wallpaper came off in some parts. My room did not have internal phone and dryer eventhough some photos showed them and a staff gave a internal phone number to the reception when I did check in. So went to ask reception to lend them for me but the staff said there was no service for such a request and also said they had no way to solve this problem because some rooms do not have these equipments. When you make the reservation, need to be in mind that the room could be diff from fotos.
