Fantastic value

Fantastic weekend at this lovely hotel. Great location, with fab views of the cathedral. Incredible breakfast and our room was huge, with a massive comfy bed. We'll definitely be back!

Our room (11) was very disappointing. What we expected (based on website pictures): Beautiful opulent rooms, with period furnishings, roll top bath and a lovely warm atmosphere. What we got: A student common room with a bed, a shower room - no bath and a shower that didn't work properly. However, on the plus side the restaurant food was exquisite.

First class restaurant and staff. We had the tasting menu which was delicious and expertly explained and served by the staff who were very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended.

Fabulous!

We knew this place was special from the moment we drove into the grounds. Service was fantastic and our room was overlooking the garden, which was beautiful. Lots of character in the building. We wish we had our evening meal there after tasting the breakfast the next day. Truly excellent and a real treat.

Little North Yorkshire Gem

We only stayed one night and discovered the taster menu at dinner which was readily booked (luckily for us). The food was superb and the sommelier did an excellent job of matching wines. Loved the take on a taster type breakfast too! Will be revisiting at some point that's for sure!

Wonderful and charming hotel directly opposite Ripon Cathedral. Friendly and helpful staff were there to see us to our room. Breakfast, what can I say… Wow!! Amazing tasting menu experience that ticked all the boxes. Staff were exceptional. Very Highly recommended! Looking forward to returning soon.

Lovely breakfast.

Impressive building and great to park outside. Staff and breakfast were exceptional. Our room was small stuffy and awful decor. Could do with some updating and mattress very thin, shower only suitable for anyone under 5ft3. Really enjoyed the breakfastt and all the staff were lovely.

Great stay right in the centre of Ripon next to the beautiful cathedral Unfortunately the day we were there the hotel restaurant wasn’t open but we found a nice Italian restaurant round the corner Breakfast was very nice and different to what most b&b’s do Would definitely stay there again when we next visit Ripon

Lovely Independent Hotel

We stayed only for one night, but as soon as we got to the Deanery we were made to feel welcome. Our room was gorgeous, right up in the rafters overlooking the garden. The room was plenty big enough for us and was very peaceful. The breakfast was amazing. Can’t praise the staff enough. The Deanery is beautiful and right in the centre of the city and we felt very well looked after. Would definitely recommend.

Almost perfect for a night or longer.

Stayed for one night and the kitchen was closed but loads of options close by in town. Breakfast was amazing however and worth the trip. They opened breakfast early for me as i had an early start. Hotel was period in nature and some things are tired. Bed mattress was thin and awful, but the room was great. Molton Brown toiletries and plenty of good towels. Staff very helpful and friendly. Overall, worth the money and would return without hesitation.
