"The staff were all really nice such fabulous service...such a beautiful location by the canal...food was spot on...perfect location for us...only thing was bed being a hit hard but thats personal preference but would definitely stay again"

"Thread bare carpets. Lighting unsynced and difficult to work out in the bedroom. Dirty toilet bowl. Spar. Changing rooms unkept with broken lockers. Worst of all, an hour and a half wait for our meal in the restaurant, the food was just thrown on the plate with no attempt at presentation, especially considering the price. Our question as to where are meal was shrugged off. When we complained all that was said was would we like a free drink? Really?This hotel presents itself as a top class wedding venue. Personally I would be embarrassed to invite friends and family to."

"Easy to find, had an issue at check in where the whole computer system was down so couldn't get a key card. I explained I had an event I needed to get to, and because they worked out my original room was next to the function room where an event was going on until 2am, they upgraded me to a bigger room and had a staff member use their master key card to get me in. I collected my key card later. Sadly the event goers were.....not considerate! Taxi blaring out music at half midnight and revellers shouting about until someone must have told them to be courteous. Despite being next to the motorway, i slept really well after that. Clean and comfy sheets and pillows, large, open and light room in the daylight, had everything I needed. Breakfast had a good range, no cooked breakfast, but plenty to choose from with cereals, bread, pastries, fruit, yoghurts and hot drinks machine. Not much sugar for cuppas so ran out after just 4 people dining - I went to take my cup to my room to get some sugar and got politely told no - fair enough, asked for sugar, went back to the dining area to finish. Easy to check out, easy to park and have parking validated and great value for money, was convenient location for work and events i was attending. Would stay here again"

"Air-conditioning sounded like a bucket of bolts the whole night when it was turned on, even when turned off it still made loud noises every 20-30min. Carpets were lifting in the main bedroom. Exterior flood lights from main buildings were constantly on and the blinds made no difference at all. Shower drain was not emptying correctly meaning that over the course of a 10min shower it filled with water. Room was clean at first glance but overall the quality was pretty poor. I unfortunately was not able to raise this to hotel staff as by the time we had got to our room it was close to 1am. Breakfast was pretty standard with a good variety of hot, cold and continental options."

"A superb hotel for the price which was significantly lower than similar options in the locality. I made a mistake leaving a shirt and jeans in my room after leaving, the staff were incredibly helpful in assisting me in getting the items posted back to my house - really went the extra mile. Great value, great location, great staff."

"Beautifully designed and decorated. Perfect spot on outskirts of sheffield - would definitely stay again. Only reasons for 4 start over 5 are small areas for improvement: Little more attention to detail on cleaning needed - dirty used tray in oven/ food debris in cutlery tray. Would also appreciate communication re access to property being sent a little sooner, was worried it wouldn't be sent."
