Cozy stay outside the Center
A casa di Barbara offered a great location, a very comfortable stay, and excellent value. We liked being outside the center with its hordes of tourists, but close to a train station and Metro stop so we could get anywhere we wanted to go quickly (when we didn’t feel like walking). Lots of great dining options, bars, cafés, gelaterie, etc very close by.

Come stare in famiglia
This quaint B&B is situated in the Ostiense district just a few blocks from Pyramid plaza. If you want a taste of real Rome, this is it. We arrived early and so Ms. Barbara had arraigned for Fatima to get us in the door. Barbara came later and it was like staying with family. So friendly, inviting, and clean.

A Great Place To Stay For A Roman Vacay!
We decided to take a short Roman vacation and B & B Casa di Barbara was the perfect location. Just a block from the Metro and train station, with many great restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood. Comfortable bed. Compact, but clean bathroom and shower. Breakfast accommodations were a little sparse, but the cappuccino and espresso were fantastic! I would highly recommend for a quick Roman getaway!

We arrived late in the evening traveling from Spain and my wife had gotten ill with an upper respiratory infection. Barbara’s mother called her sister to take my wife to a 24 hour pharmacy to get medication. Their actions saved our vacation. My wife was feeling so badly that she would have needed a doctor without the help of these kind people. We were treated like family during our stay. We loved everything about this bed and breakfast. The neighborhood looks very sketchy but it is perfectly safe and convenient to all the attractions. There are many great neighborhood restaurants in the area. Barbara and her mother are two of the nicest people you will ever meet and we are making plans to return in the near future.

Cosy place to stay at Rome
We were welcomed by Barbara's mother and son. They weren't not only friendly but also gave us a lot of travelling tips in Rome. The place is very clean with good facility. Breakfast was simple but fairly enough. The Ramen restaurant downstairs and gelato shop across the road were a must go as well. The only downside is the room we stayed is nest to a busy cross with no double glazing windows. It could be noisy for some people. Luckily I wasn't affected.

What a great place & reasonable rate. Barbara & her mom Angela were the nicest people. Very convenient to the Metro to get to city center. A great location . I walked to the train with my Suitcase & took the train to the airport for only 8 Euro. I will be staying here again!

Sizzling Rome
I really enjoyed my stay. The place is clean and very well maintained. Excellent wifi connection, rooms are spacious and lots of natural light. Some my find it noisy because of the busy streets but I find it lively. If you want quiet go to the country side or the mountains for your weekend. If you want to spend your weekend in a hip neighborhood with lots of great bars and restaurants this is your place!

Excellent B&B hotel
Very nice hotel, easy access to all public transportation. Walking distance to most Good restaurants, Ms. Barbara is very helpful and accommodating. Kitchen is open 24 hours w/ all kind of good breakfast,snacks and drinks. We enjoy our 9 days in this hotel. We recommend it to all of our friends and family.

Lovely place to stay in Rome
We had 2 rooms as we were a family of 4. Barbara is a lovely lady and everything was clean and safe. It was easy to get to the sights of Rome and to get to other places in Italy (main line station nearby too). The small kitchen was available all the time with a supermarket nearby so I was able to make sandwiches for picnics. Lovely pizza places and a fabulous restaurant (Estrobar) and ice cream parlour nearby (Gelateria La Romana).

Two subway station to the Collosseum
It was a pleasure to stay in this B&B: 10 minutes walk to the FAO Headquarters (or one station by subway). In the room, all amenities and furniture are new and clean, queen size bed is comfortable enough. The washroom and shower booth are pretty small, and I do not recommend you to stay here, if you are a really big man. Breakfast staff is 24-hour available: cereals and milk, cheese, croissants, cookies, juices, jam, honey, tea, coffee, bottled water, etc.

Our home away from home
we had a wonderful 4 days at this B&B and Barbara is an unbelievable hostess. The moment you meet her you know you've made the right choice. The rooms are very spacious,clean comfortable and well laid out and the location is terrific with many good eateries that this area is known for in Rome. It is very close to a lot of attractions and the transit options available make it easy to access any part of the city.

One of the best B&B's I have stayed in!
I went to visited Rome with my parents and honestly, we had the most pleasant and relaxing stay at B&B A Casa di Barbara. Baraba works very had to keep the place looking immaculate; she welcomes you with such enthusiasm and makes you feel at home. The location is great with transport links into to central Rome just a 10 minuet walk away. When we arrived Barbara took us through the map and gave us advice on where to visit and how to get there. The facilities are very well finished and very clean and the kitchen is stocked with bread, coffee, milk etc everything you need. It was all immaculate. I honestly recommend staying there and I will definitely be coming back very soon! Barbara is a legend!

Very clean.nice bathroom.,noisy.
More of a shared apartment than B and B as its a help yourself breakfast which is very basic. The rooms very clean but the bed is hard and the pillows flat. Excellent bathroom facilities. It is very noisy from the road outside. Quite a long way to the city 30 - 40 minutes walk.

Convenient hotel walking distance to main sights
We stayed at Barbara's for two nights. Good location to explore tourist attractions of Rome. Barbara met us and welcomed us and advised on how best to get about to see what we wanted to see. It's a 25min walk to Trastevere and easy to get to the Colosseum and centre of Rome. The B&B was well stocked with all amenities including shower gel, hair dryer etc. Our room wasn't as nice looking as the photo but did the job for what we needed it too! Recommend this B&B for people who are keen to get out and about to explore Rome and Barbara is a great host!

Excellent friendly accommodation..
We had a fantastic experience staying at Barbara's B and B.. great welcome by Barbara and her Mother! The B and B is situated in walking distance from the bus station and the Metro.. and surrounded by many different restaurants.. friendly, local family run eating places. Would highly recommend this B and B ...and hope to return some time. The room was spotless.. bed really comfortable.. and the bathroom had everything a girl or guy could wish for ..no need to take toiletries!! Barabara even printed our boarding passes for us and arranged a taxi to take us to the airport. We have travelled around the world and rate this as one of the best places we have stayed in!

Fantastic B&B and host
Had a really lovely stay here, for 4 nights. Barbara was extremely helpful and friendly. She got in touch before I arrived to confirm everything and make sure I knew how to get to the B&B. Kitchen was great, able to use 24 hrs. Breakfast was self service - croissants, bread for toast, butter, jams, joghurts and fruit juice supplied. Nespresso machine and capsules, and bottled water provided too. Room was very big, especially as it was a single room. Bed was comfortable, i slept really well. Lovely modern bathroom and all toilletries, towels, gown and hairdryer were provided. Very close, maximum 5 minute walk, to the Piramide metro station. Piramide is 4 stops, 10 min from Termini central station. Also lots of buses nearby which take you quickly to the centre, to all the sights, and to the Vatican. I also walked to a lot of the central tourist spots. Yes, was 30-50 minute walk to some places, but a nice walk. Great restaurants and gelateria immediately surrounding B&B. Would happily stay here again if I go back to Rome :)

A conveniently placed home from home
Barbara gave us a great welcome. Everything was cleaned and tidied every day. Bags could be left after check-out on last day. The kitchen is available all day. Breakfast includes bread, spreads, sweet pastries, cereals. Pastries are wrapped for freshness. The best compliment we can pay Barbara is that we started referring to her B&B as "home" during our stay. Frequent buses 715/6 to the Capitoline Hill and 23 to the Vatican go from under the nearby railway bridge. The metro (Pyramide), trams, main-line trains (including to the airport)and the S. Paolo station for Ostia Antica and Lido di Ostia (both worth a visit) are all 200 yards beyond the bridge. Testaccio market is a 10 minute walk. V. Ostiense has Andreotti patisseria (est. 1931) with wonderful traditional pastries. It also has plenty of take-aways and a good gelateria. Just beyond the bridge in V.Giovanni da Empoli is the excellent and inexpensive Roman-cuisine trattoria of Olio, Sale e Pepe. At S. Paolo station there is a small, free, railway museum that is not in the guide books (entry from the platform). There are obvious signs of poverty in the area but this is no different to inner urban areas anywhere. Ostiense generally felt much safer than round the big tourist sites.

Great base for exploring Rome.
Barbara was brilliant - a fount of information. B&B excellent, not just for the big, but also the thoughtful small things too e.g: Headphones for hop on - hop off buses, teabags, fully stocked bathroom - lovely. Barbara's B&B is one of the best places I stayed in in Rome and I have been to at least a dozen of those. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The bathroom is nice and well equipped with everything you need. The breakfast is very good. The kitchen is open for anytime you need to use it. Overall, I would recommend B&B to anyone.

When we first arrived in the area of the B&B we were a bit concerned: it's just outside of the main ancient core, lots of graffiti, congestion and traffic, and it took us a while to find the apartment complex. But once we met Barbara our concerns soon drifted away. She made us comfortable in our room, had a map within in our hands and soon had indicated all kinds of suggestions, bus routes, metro destinations, and even warned us to stay away from certain areas of the city. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed and excellent air conditioning. The private bathroom had all the conveniences, and Barbara stressed that the kitchen was ours to use. The refrigerator was stocked with water, yogurt, juice milk and snacks. There was bread, croissants, and cereal 24/7, and a microwave and espresso machine.

Barbara was very friendly and spoke English. Always responded to communications and gave needed info for tourists. Best gelato we have found in Italy is just around the corner. Four day stay in Rome with a lot of Metro use. Neighborhood was not the best to walk through to station but had no problems. Elevator was great to have.Good place to eat on way to station.

We stayed for 3 nights and arrived late on our first evening. Barbara was very welcoming and waited for us to arrive. She made us feel very welcome and explained how to get to the places we wanted to visit. There is 24 hour access to the kitchen which is great if you want a snack late evening or a drink. There were also plenty of toiletries in the room which was a nice touch.

Everything we needed
Location was great, just a 5 minute walk from the Metro. We could help ourselves to whatever was in the kitchen, really handy for a quick bite to eat before a long day of walking. Barbara was very informative and polite and e-mailed us before we got there to ensure we knew directions and ask any preferences to the room we required. The beds were fantastic, so comfy after a busy couple of days. Only tiny issue we had was finding the place but to be fair Barbara did give us directions, we're just blind. Very hard to find any faults with this place so very highly recommended.

Although we had a little trouble locating this non-traditional B&B, once located, we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. They were clean, comfortable and felt like a lovingly prepared guest room in a friends home. Barbara was very sweet and made us feel right at home.

O local é muito aprazível e bem localizado, próximo ao metrô e à estação de trem, com acesso ao aeroporto em um percurso de cerca de 30 minutos. Sra. Angela foi muito simpática e prestativa e nos recebeu para passar todas as informações sobre nossa estadia. Havia bastante variedade de alimentos para o café da manhã, tais como bolos, pães, iogurtes e sucos. A limpeza do local era impecável e o banheiro contava com shampoo, sabonetes, álcool gel e secador. O melhor de tudo foi a recepção calorosa, por isso agradecemos especialmente à Fátima, que nos auxiliou em tudo, até nos acompanhou à estação de trem. Recomento a todos que queiram se hospedar num lugar tranquilo e residencial em Roma.

Barbaras Mutter hat sich sehr liebevoll um uns gekümmert. Die Lage in dem aufstrebenden Viertel Ostiense ist super, es gibt viele Restaurants und Bars. Es ist zwar immer laut, aber das hat uns nicht gestört, denn wir waren abends eh müde vom Sightseeing. Und es gibt Ohrstöpsel für empfindliche Gäste. Es wurde jeden Tag gereinigt und für das Frühstück war auch alles reichlich da. Zur Metro sind es ca. 10 Minuten zu Fuß. Es hat uns hier viel besser als in einem Hotel gefallen und wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Danke Barbara und danke auch an Deine Mama!
