It was a good option, but it was a Bed with no Breakfast and they were announced as Hotel. Clean service was not available on Sunday and they don’t change towels frequently.

Pleasant stay near Colosseum
We had a pleasant stay. There was however a lack of natural light but window can be opened, giving a view at street level. Not in the room during the day so not really a problem. Room was cleaned each day and there is a decent shower. Welcome drink provided in mini fridge which was a nice touch. Host made us welcome and answered any questions we had.

The guesthouse was in a brilliant location. Very close to the main attractions all walking distance. Property is clean and check in was all easy. Good restaurants all within walking distance from the property. Very reasonable too.

Generally disappointing. Air conditioning was broken. Hot water was scarce and inconsistent. Loud street with lots of traffic and trucks unloading

Dear Charles some times can happen we try to do our best and we changed your room , fortunally other guests next your room have an opposite opinion of our place as you can read it the following what they wrote John - Expedia Inviata in data ott 8, 2019 Excellent location on a quiet street but close to a variety of restaurants and the Colosseum. The property was very much like the picture and the internet, TV and the like were great. No real negative points.

We enjoyed our stay. The property is conveniently located next to good restaurants and a quick walk to the Colosseum and metro station. The neighborhood felt safe and lively. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean. The beds were extra comfy! For the price, Colosseum B was a bargain!

Our hostess Patrizia was amazing! She was so helpful with a late check in, directions and advice. The location is wonderful. At one end of our street was the Colosseum, and next to that, the Metro stop. Architecture and infrastructure at its finest! It has been a very wet spring and our garden level room was quite damp, including bedding and ultimately, our clothing. We only had one set of towels for the 4 nights we were there, and they never dried. A dehumidifier would probably solve that, or if Italian weather had not been so unusual. In all, however, the good outweighed the uncomfortable, and I would stay there again.

Overall an A
This is a very nice place to stay. It is a safe neighborhood and is within minutes of the Colosseum. Near a Metro route and near a Hop on Hop off stop. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Also near 2 ATM and grocery stores.

There is mis-representation in your hotel description which states that ‘breakfast is served in a nearby bar’ This is not the case as breakfast is not provided! I think compensation is in order for two breakfasts as stated

i stayed there in june me and my wife the location was really great cant say anything bad about that. but the room was horrible the air conditioner was weak and couldn't even feel it. the bathroom was dirty look like mold everywhere. i did not enjoy the hotel at all.

Don't miss this terrific place!!
Fabulous location - only 3 blocks from the Collesseum! Room frig didn't work but am sure it is fixed by now and we were given access to the entire kitchen - making it like a small apartment! Alex and Patrizia are the BEST!!! I actually left my wedding gown and 3-4 expensive jackets (still don't believe it!!) there and Alex got them all packed up and sent by UPS to our next stop in Sorrento! Awesome service!!! Be sure to put this on your list in Rome - at the very top!

Nice room, but not a traditional hotel
This is not for everyone. Saw a human on the first day and we were there for six. Room not cleaned every day. Location is good: couple blocks from transportation, eateries, and sights. Get your own breakfast, but most places are not cheap (one fried egg was $18). Gives you great insight into the typical Roman neighborhoods. Three side notes: maps are not accurate (three inches can equal a 10 minute or a 45 minute walk), churches can be closed at the priest's whim and waiters don't get tips so services sucks!

Dear Cecile, I am sorry to hear you had some set back with restaurants and bars. Unfortunately in Rome and generally in the italian cities is not so difficult to get into tourist traps. Regarding the lack of human encounters; if you were referring to guesthouse staff, you must know that we have a dedicated person for the check in, that can be contacted at any time by phone, and because of that we have no a reception on site. Regarding the cleaning issues. The lady in charge is instructed to clean the flat daily in the morning hours, generally till noon. If this didn't happened is probably because she noticed the guest was still inside the room, as our policy is to bother clients' privacy as less as possible. Said that I hope you enjoyed your stay in Rome. Looking forward to meet you again I wish you a nice rest of week. Best regards

Terrible Guest House
As one stays at a guest house one knows service will just not be like a hotel because it is not. However, good service, 'no-excuse' service and cleanliness are, at the minimum, expected. We stayed ar room #2. These are the facts: David, who is a manager of the house told us he was an "action man", but tgat stayed as mere words. The AC was broken, it even lacked some buttons/knobs - he's response: "Open the window, it is cool outside, so room temp will be nice." AC was never fixed so actually we had to maintain the small window open (a window that is a street level in a really noisy street particularly very early in the morning. The beds and room cleaning was supposed to occur daily, it happened only twice in a five days stay. Furniture is way run down (obviously not maintained). Toilet lid was incorrectly affixed, so sitting was not comfortable adding to it that the roll holder is intalled in a very inadequate location. There were several old air freshners evidently to hide the odors of mold and humidity that were obvious as one entered the room after a day outside. Very sad experience. Location is good taking into consideration its proximity to the Coloseo, but that's about it.

DEAR guest, first of all thank you for the "nice" review title...We always try to do our best and sometimes can happen to have guests unsatisfied. Anyway there are few things i would like to clarify: David is the check in guy and not a manager of my guesthouse; your stay was in autumn season (we had an average temperature of 10 degrees, less by night) so the aircon system was switched on "winter" mode for the happiness of all other guests; i can understand that everyone has a different sensivity but we use heating system in Italy during autumn/winter. The aircon was not broken nor had to be fixed (Davide suggestion was just the only possible, and he did in a polite way). Regarding cleaning the lady came EVERY DAY but as you should know the room has to be empty to proceed and this within a certain time like in every other hotel, b&b or guesthouse (in our case within 11 a.m.). About furniture you are actually the first guests in years complaing about the ''run down'' state. Toilet lid could be not well fixed and with a simple call we could fix it in a minute (don't you think so?); no comment about roll holder; about air freshners did you smell any bad odor or you just guess that they were because of them? is actually natural to put some nice fragrance (don't you think so?) in any hotel enviroment. We are putting all our efforts and this can be noticed from the many reviews (here and in many other places on the web). I think that you were disappointed because aircon was not activated being winter and you left this TERRIBLE review for spurious motivations. We are here to work and to offer the best service we can, surely we can make mistakes but we are always available to listen and to fix what we can fix. You should maybe think twice next time before leaving such negative reviews.

Different but good...
Colosseum B is a small guesthouse not a hotel. It's exceptionally well located with only a few small but well-furnished, clean and quiet rooms. There are no staff on site. A few hundred metres to the Colosseum, Forum and Metro - it's a terrific place to stay and there are some very good restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Highly recommended especially if you're over regular hotels.

We Spent great time in Rome, the Colosseum B was perfect, it was very clean and the service was excellent, the location could not be better, 5 minutes walk to the Colosseum, you can even see it from the door step. Basically what you see on their website is what you get. Valter, Daniela and Dario were very kind and professional, they helped us in every possible way, they even helped us book our train ticket to Venice, and Dario drove like crazy to get us to the airport on time after we lost our Bus. if we ever visit Italy again we will definitely stay at the Colosseum B. Thank you Valter, Daniela and Dario.

Valter was very welcoming when we arrived he made us a lovely espresso coffee and showed us all the places to visit. Our room was a good size and very clean it was on the ground floor and it was at street level so it could be quite noisy if you had the window open. It was very comfortable and was very homely if you want a hotel experience with all the facilities than this is not the place for you but a very good place to stay when visiting Rome restaurants were near by if you did not want to travel far.Thank you Valter for your making us very welcome and for your hospiitality we had a lovely time.

Happy we chose this hotel
The hotel was in a great location, within walking distance to the colosseum and metro station. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. Helped us to find the places we needed to be. The room was a bit smaller than I thought it was going to be but didn't bother us as we were there to see the city not the room.

The stay was great! Valter was really friendly and helpful. Rooms are quite clean and comfortable. The location is really close to Colosseum and metro and bus stops. The only thing that bothers us is that the shower head holder is somewhat broken. We always had to be careful not to be hit by the falling head holder during shower.

The hotel is very close to the Colosseum. You can be their im 10 minutes. It is more of a guesthouse so if you want a inexpensive place with nice room and close to the Colosseum then you will not regret staying here.

Authentic Italian experience!
We were greeted by Mr Valter and he prepared authentic Italian coffee for us! He provided us with maps, directions and assistance for our stay and future travels in the country. It was a wonderful location and way to meet others and settle into Italy!

More like a boarding room in a good locating.
The propriter was very nice but was not on site. Gave us a small room the first night night and moved us for the next three nights to a room a bit larger. The rooms were clean and be a spartan. Twice we needed the proprietor but we had to call because she was not on site. The room is in a very good location being just about 3 blocks from the Colosseum with restaurants on 5 or 6 corners. I would recommend this hotel but with the understanding that it is a no-frills place.

Perfect place to stay in Rome
It depends on what you want from a hotel in Rome. If you want pampering, or waited on, or a luxurious experience then this is not the hotel for you. If you want somewhere with a really clean room, comfortable bed, TV, in a safe quiet part of Rome then stop looking this is the place for you. Location is ideal, you can see the Colosseum from the end of the road and a 5 min walk later you're at its gate. All other main attractions in Rome are walkable. The furthest we walked was to the Vatican which took about 40 mins. Also you have two supermarkets very close by and an amazing restaurant around the corner(Luzzi I think it's called, 7.50 euro for a lovely bottle of red!! and food is brilliant...arrive before 7 on a weekend otherwise you'll probably have to queue) Hosts are a lovely married couple who will show you where to go (but, as someone else has mentioned, contact them beforehand with arrival time as they don't live at the hotel. Cant recommend Colosseum B highly enough. its is a genuine hidden gem in Rome and I think it's highly unlikely you will find somewhere more convenient or better value.

What a wonderful stay at Colosseum B(&B). There's always a risk when one books hotels and rooms online, especially if it is not a "name brand". But their rooms were and service was exceptional. We believe we have found a gem and would recommend their B&B to anyone. We especially valued the clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, the quietness of the rooms, the air conditioning, the coziness of the limited rooms offered, access to the kitchen, and of course their help in guiding us around Rome. We enjoyed Rome's sights, the restaurants the recommended were excellent, and now we're all big gelato fans. Family of 5.
