Location! Location! This hotels decors is quirky but the beds are comfy the staff is very friendly and safe. They have a snack and stocked mini fridge which was very nice when you just need a something to eat! If your grandma had a hotel and thought of everything even a foot massager they had it! I will stay there again for the convenience we could walk to everything.

This was the best stay I have ever had. The hotel is in a perfect location, walkable to all sites in Rome, longest walk was about 31 minutes to the Vatican. The foot and body massager were a welcomed amenity after long days walking. The food available in the room daily was perfect for breakfast and snacking throughout the day, and it was restocked daily. The staff and everyone working here is so nice and helpful, they helped us with planning out what we should see. The bathrooms were very clean and was cleaned daily. We also got a nice cake on arrival and pasta on our leaving. I would 10/10 stay here again and would recommend this place to all my friends and family visiting Rome.

This is a unique little hotel in the heart of Rome, walkable to Colosseum, Trevi fountain, the Forum and Pantheon. the hotel has so much character with its sculptures, friezes and paintings, feels like being in a quirky museum. The fridge is Full of goodies to make a snack and all included. such a nice perk! Staff are friendly and efficient. We would definitely stay at the Hotel Barrett again when in Rome!

If you like hotel chains with bell staff, gyms and on property restaurants/bars, this place isn't for you. But if you like a place that has character and is a little quirky, like I do, you'll love this place. Yes, you have to walk up some stairs, and yes, the room isn't very big (which is true of most places in Europe), but I have never stayed in a place with more in-room amenities. A chair massager? A foot bath? A hot dog roaster? And I can honestly say that the free mini bar had more food in it than my refrigerator at home. The location is extremely central - all the major sites are walkable - but it was still very quiet at night. The decor is fun and unique. I would definitely stay here again.

Room is dirty and the small. Because of the environment, hazard of having mold, me, and my partner have severe allergy, and eye infection because of the bacteria. We’re trying to request a refund from the hotel but they refused. We should’ve request also reimburse our medical expenses. We end up going to see a pharmacist to get some medicine for the allergy and eyes

This was, unfortunately, the only hotel stay of our trip (stayed at 9 different locations total) that we didn’t like! Positives: The main positive feature was that the owner is very nice and friendly. The decor is somewhat tacky, but could appeal to some as it is unique. The location was great! It’s right by “Largo do Torre Argentina”. In-room Amenities: The hotel really tries to win you over with in-room amenities, but the room is very cluttered and you wouldn’t use most of these add-ons. For instance, there is a hot dog cooker, regular toaster, and other kitchen gadgets, but they refused to provide a clothing iron because of safety concerns? There are many bigger fire hazards in the room as is that were less useful. Breakfast: The fridge and shelves are stocked with food, but we didn’t try any as they were all highly processed and we thought it was strange to eat refrigerated foods previous guests had access to. Cleanliness: The room did not feel clean, especially the shower. The jacuzzi shower was covered in black mold in all corners. Also, all the surplus decor and add ons made the room feel dusty. It’d be impossible to wipe everything down between guests. “Deluxe” Bedding: My biggest complaint was the bed/bedding. The mattress was very stiff/uncomfortable, and the bedding felt so cheap! It looked like one-time use hospital bedding. Also, whatever detergent they use to wash it was overly fragrant. Again, we stayed at 9 hotels during our trip, and this was the o

Final stop of my trip.
Very friendly staff. Unique very Roman decor. Very convenient location to the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, etc. They had a taxi ready for me at 6:30 am. I was a little surprised it was on the (European) 2nd floor with no elevator. They did help me with my luggage up the second flight, though.

This tired hotel is on the third floor ( walk up ) of an unprepocessing building on a busy street. The reception area is crammed with cheap and shabby reproductions of antique statues vases etc and plastic plants. The overall effect is uniquely depressing. Wether its the broken plastic shower cubicle or the threadbare towels its hard to convey how awful this hotel is.

First, I would stay here again. The property is perfectly located for all of the main attractions in Rome. It's proximity to shopping and dining is excellent too. And although we did not take advantage of the bus transportation, it is directly in front of the hotel. There are a few things that I think you need to know and I freely admit these are probably American things. The rooms are already small and they cram a ton of "extras" into the room like foot therapy items and massaging chairs, etc that are maybe nice, but not the most efficient use of an already very small space. The heat & air units are combined with other rooms and if both rooms are not on the same setting (i.e. cool) they will not work. I had to call the desk twice to get our units synced up so ours would work. Also, the staff turns the AC off during the day when they clean the room. We were there in April, so it wasn't too bad, but if they do that in the summer it would be a problem. The hotel is up three long flights of stairs. I failed to confirm in the details if they had an elevator, so I take blame in that. But, with a tricky knee and after walking for 8 hours a day coming home to three tough flights of stairs was, well tough. The hotel overall is so unique and the decorations are really neat. Like I said, I would stay again, I would just be better prepared for those things I mentioned above.

Cute room with a big mini bar selection. Room even has a massage chair and foot spa. Front desk is amazing and very helpful for all needs and requests. We even got a bag of pasta at checkout.

An absolute delight of a property! The hotel is so conveniently located and the staff are amazing. The room was small but functional and the stocked mini bar with all types of snacks and drinks was fantastic. I would not hesitate staying here again and highly recommend.

Great location! Central to all tourist attractions, easy to walk and also a cab station on the same block. Decor was kitschy and bed a little too firm, but the room and bathroom were spotless, and the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. I especially appreciated the foot bath and massage chair in our room after a long day of walking!

Our family loved our stay at Hotel Barrett! Our room was quirky and comfortable with excellent air-conditioning. There were tons of food and drinks in our room, and the fridge/cupboard was restocked daily, which was very convenient after a hot day exploring Rome. The staff was incredibly helpful, providing maps and suggestions for restaurants and gelato. The location of the hotel is outstanding. Vatican City, the Colosseum and Piazza Navona are all within walking distance. Most nights, we ate dinner in Trastavere, which is only a 10 minute walk. Highly recommend!

Great Place to Stay when in Rome
We stayed 4 days at Hotel Barrett. The hotel is very eccentric in a good way. We found the location to be very good and did not have trouble getting to various locations in Rome. One of the things that set this hotel apart from others is an adorable woman named Aneta who works at the front desk. She is a true asset to this property and whatever the hotel is paying her she deserves a raise. She really was so very helpful and and made our say there very memorable.

Charming Roman Hotel in the Heart of Rome
Charming older hotel in the heart of Rome. Quaint furnishings, keeping with the period. Very comfortable room, with a fully stocked refrigerator, espresso maker, toaster, etc. all free. Very helpful staff, happy to accommodate our needs. Buses at the doorstep. Walking distance to many major attractions. Restaurants about, very close to the kosher restaurant district. Highly recommended. Only critique is that the rooms are not very large.

We were made to feel at home during the check-in process. Hotel mgmt took the time to show us all the amenities in the room and explain everything. They gave us walking tour suggestions, restaurant suggestions, and were generally friendly and accommodating. The location was walkable to all the popular tourist sites - Trevi, Pantheon, Colosseum, Forum, Palatine Hill. Multple buses stop at the plaza in front of the hotel so easy to get to Vatican, etc. that are a little out of walking range.The food, drink, and self-care options provided in the room were truly beyond expectations.
