Brrakfast was lovely although the pastry selection had vastly diminished within 10 minutes of breakfast opening and didnt get topped up or refreshed. Overall breakfast selection and quality was outstanding and served quickly. Room standard was also very good with lots of room. Friendly hotel and bar staff and would definitely recommend and stay again. Lots of available parking also.

Just what I wanted: an old hotel with a bit of character and a warm welcome. Bathroom was a bit ‘tired’ but clean with soft towels. Comfy bed, warm room, enough storage for a short stay. Actual keys on a big wooden fob instead of horrid plastic cards that stop working was appreciated. Had to ask for a hairdryer but wasn’t a problem.

Good value for money, hotel a bit dated but clean. Very quiet and comfortable room. On arrival reception door was locked and signed to enter through bar area but not clearly signed so had to ask man behind bar where to go. Once at reception was waiting 5 minutes for staff to arrive and another man was waiting already so don’t know how long he had been waiting. This was the only fault but didn’t give good first impression!
