Wonderful stay for our anniversary. The host was very accommodating and responsive during slight snow storm just prior to our stay. Also had great suggestions for local restaurants. The cabin was very cozy and had everything we needed for our stay - located in a peaceful area just a few minutes drive to town. We also really enjoyed taking walks in the snow and seeing deer. We will definitely return to this property next time we visit Ruidoso.
What a relaxing stay to start the New Year. From the perfect hot tub wolf moon views, to the perfect fireplace and recliners, to early morning visitors with deer and turkey. Are stay was so amazing. Cathy was easy to reach and accommodated us openly with no issues.
We had a wonderful time on our weekend trip. The cabin was nice and peaceful, beautiful weather too. Loved the both outside porch areas. Great communication with the owner. Thank you, Cathi! :)
Our host was in constant communication with us during a plumbing issue and pivoted to another property seamlessly. She was so generous and kind and super friendly and professional. The cabin was very clean and beautifully decorated. It had everything we needed plus more.
The host is wonderful!!! Very welcoming, caring, and quick to respond. This one-bedroom cabin is charming and just right for couples. Don't expect "fancy" but do expect it to be well appointed for cozy and comfort. There are other homes on the dead-end street but didn't see anyone in 3 days. An early January stay treated us to a night of snow and the beauty that comes with it. There's nothing like a hot tub... surrounded by snow... and a sky full of stars! This place earned another stay in the future!
Communication with host (Cathi) was prompt and helpful--excellent! Cabin was very well equipped and well stocked with linens and papergoods. The cabin grounds were well kept---wild flowers, wildlife, sound of river were amazing. Great location--a quick drive to town. The clean-up from flood devastation, fires is ongoing and upon completion will be a real paradise again.
"The property is wonderful, very pleasant and cozy. It’s ideal for a peaceful stay for a small family like ours. It’s nestled right in the forest, which allows you to experience wildlife up close. Every detail was very well taken care of and provided, and the owner was attentive to notifications and important information via message whenever we needed it. Without a doubt, it’s worth escaping to the mountains, with a location very close to the river and the peace of nature that the city can’t offer."
I was incredibly comfortable in this quaint cottage. It was exceptionally well stocked, the location is lovely, and communication with the owner was very easy. Definitely planning on returning!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is an awesome cabin and location. We saw wild horses, elk, deer and heard turkeys. Cathi is amazing and very attentive. We highly recommend this cabin and we will totally be back!
It was a lovely, private place. Comfortable and cozy. The host was incredibly helpful and easy to communicate with. We would definitely recommend the property and would stay again myself.
The cabin was perfect and the area was beautiful. There was alot to do and the people of Ruidosa were so friendly. We will be back. Our hosts were so nice and accommodating.
Perfect trip to get out of the rat race and relax. The cabin was charming and stocked with absolutely everything anyone would need. My favorite part was having coffee on the screened in back porch in the mornings and seeing and hearing all the birds sing. While there we saw so much wildlife - deer, elk (with baby) and a black bear with her 3 cubs. Also, communication with the owner was great!
It was quite a wonderful stay. Beautiful scenery, absolutely love all the colors changing now that its fall. Ruidoso is our go to and we love it every time. Our host was gracious and very communicative with us throughout the trip. Can't wait till our next trip!
The Deck/patio area was absolutely beautiful. Most of our time was spent outside on the deck watching the deer. The inside of the home was cozy and perfect for the two of us.
We found the cabin to be very well stocked,
We had a wonder weekend! The cabin was perfect. The property was just as advertised and the hot tub was a perfect place to enjoy the cool mountain air. Cathi was great to deal with. Highly recommended!!!
Perfect cabin for a couple. Pretty much everything you need. Bed was very comfortable, but small. In a nice, quiet location in Upper Canyon.
I give it 4-1/2 stars because the bed is small.
Cathi is lovely and the property is amazing!!! Fantastic check in and check out process, she was always just a text away if we needed anything, and she even left us a sweet gift for our wedding! 10/10 will return.
Awesome cabin and even better host. This is definitely a do over for us. If it was my personal cabin I would add an outdoor ceiling fan on the screened in porch but it’s not alway 90 degrees in Ruidoso like it was on this stay. Such a great place. The out back space is great for dogs also.
We brought our dogs for a quick mountain getaway. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The property was beautiful and just as described - the deck and sunroom were wonderful, and we saw lots of deer in the neighborhood. We were able to take the dogs for evening hikes right out the back door in NF land. The house was easy to find and get into, and just a few minute drive to the restaurants and breweries in town. Definitely will be staying again!
The hostess is fabulous, and thinks of everything you might need. She is also very responsive and polite. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The front and back porches offered a beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable start and end to the day. Being in the Upper Canyon the temperature is mild during the day, and cool during the evenings. Will definitely revisit in the future.
Cathi was amazing. My husband I had a great weekend celebrating our birthdays and Cathi was the most accommodating host we have ever had. We use vrbo often and this was the best experience we’ve ever had. The house was perfect. The cleanliness, the location, the amenities, everything was perfect! I could never say enough about our experience! Thank you so much, Cathi, for everything. You’re the best.

It was a great place to stay, but you cannot just walk across to the river. There are homes all around; so it's private property. You have to drive out to the trails. I contacted the owner about hiking from their back yard, but never heard from them. Place was cute. Bathroom was tiny, tub had dead bugs in it. And the shelves, fixtures were dusty which set off my allergies. The hot tub was a plus.
