"Not having visited Shrewsbury for many years, I wanted to stay in the town centre. The Prince Rupert is a really nice hotel, even if finding it given the intricate one-way system makes things difficult, as does finding the hotel parking lot. The only thing to complain about was the fact that the rooms had no air conditioning, and as the daytime temperature was about 38°C, sleep was hard to come by. But this is an uncommon temperature in Shropshire! I would certainly stay there again, as it is very central for all of the city's amenities."

"I had a good night here. The room was very spacious and well appointed, if a bit old fashioned. A bath and a shower enclosure which is unusual these days. Some very minor maintenance issues but I was very pleased with the room overall. The bar terrace is great, such a nice place to sit out if sunny. The staff were friendly and helpful in the main. Drinks and food prices were very high (£7.50 for a pint of lager, £22 for burger and fries) but probably in line with the hotel's general vibe. The evening food was, to be fair, very good quality. The cooked breakfast was, again, very good quality. The orange juice and (particularly) the coffee were poor (probably the worst coffee, served yourself from a flask, that I've had in years!). I would stay here again."

"We stayed in an Executive run which was well maintained and spacious if a little dated. Bathroom had been updated but corners had been cut like an old siding on the bath. Air con worked well and the room was quiet overnight. Breakfast wasn’t great. Limited choices and the eggs were terrible both scrambled and fried, but it was only £10 each. It was good value for money overall and convenient for a stroll into town to catch the shuttle bus to Llangollen Pavilion. Would imagine it gets very busy on match days as it is close to the Race Course ground."

"Lovely setting for what is becoming a rarity in a real B&B. Our hosts, Yolanda and Roger treated us as part of the family and looked after us really well. We were invited to look at what I would describe as a showcase garden, and felt as if we were in a manor park! The breakfast was copious and as interesting as you like, with a very varied menu, including local produce and good home cooking. It was a pleasure to have met such a couple who are kind and generous characters, that have a wealth of knowledge and experiences!"
