I had stayed in a Social Hub in Madrid and found it to be an excellent alternative to main stream hotels. The one in Amsterdam was not the case. The location for this hotel is not very good. We were assigned a handicap accessible room without requiring nor requesting one. They did change our room but unfortunately the air conditioning in that room did not work. When I enquired at the desk I was told that none of the rooms had air conditioning because it was illegal in Europe to have AC. This is of course false. The rooms were climate controlled except our room was about 25-28 degrees even though the thermostat was set to 18. They said they would send someone but never did. We survived by opening the window and luckily the fall weather kept the room comfortable for sleeping. We did not spend any daytime hours in the room. Overall, for the money we paid, we could have had a much better hotel room, closer to the city centre and in a safer, more friendlier area. I do not recommend staying at this location.

I loved this hotel. Located within a canal house, the view from my window was beautiful. The room was small, but clean and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were amazing. Extremely helpful when my flight was canceled. Extremely helpful with restaurant suggestions, quarters in Amsterdam to visit and activities. The breakfast was very good. The hotel had a lovely lounge that was available to guests. The location was convenient for walking around the city. I would go back.

The location was excellent, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby and easy access to different parts of Amsterdam. The room was very quiet in terms of street noise. However, because it was a connecting room, noise from the adjoining room or corridor could sometimes be heard. Unfortunately, our bed consisted of two single beds pushed together and was made up with two separate single duvets. The staff members we dealt with were excellent throughout our stay. The room was spacious and clean, but the lack of power sockets was disappointing. There were only two sockets, both located underneath the desk, which made charging electronic devices inconvenient. The shower was good, but there was no lip or barrier to prevent water from spilling onto the bathroom floor outside the shower area. The hotel lift was very small and extremely slow, although it was functional.
