"Should not be 5 star. The food was fine, pretty much same standard AI as you normally get. The pool is huge and very lovely if you are quick enough in the morning to get a sunbed. The rooms need updating, comfy bed but old, cheap furniture not 5 star quality. We went into town 5 nights out of our 7, it takes about 15 mins to walk and we did it during the day and after dark no problem at all. Taxi option is also very easy. So much better than staying in the hotel, I wish I had gone B&B. The beach is much better near town as well as the waves are crazy near the hotel. If I went back I would not return here. "

The team does a fantastic job, keeping the energy high and the atmosphere lively. A special mention must go to the All White Party on Friday night – an absolutely exceptional event! The music, lights, dancing, and vibe made it one of the most memorable nights of the holiday. Whether you’re looking to unwind by the pool, explore the island, or enjoy vibrant entertainment in the evenings, Riu Funana has something for everyone. "Hard to review stay as I was suffering from after effects (but clear) of recent Novo contracted in UK as lost 8-9 lbs. So did not due what I expected to do & 1/2 way thru stay started to pick up. Room, staff breakfast very good. Had nice trip to Santa Maria they provide for free. Pool fine but used less than expected as not up to it. Snorkelled in small bay up from reception. Good first 2 days last day churned up so visibility issues. Very nice walks N & S of resort on or near beach which I could not exploit as much as wished. Nice meals in afternoon N of reception. Good Super Mercardo on site S of reception"
