Shepherds Rest - shepherds hut - New for 2026

  • Shepherd’s Rest – Shepherd’s Hut

Unwind in comfort and style at *Shepherd’s Rest*, a beautifully crafted shepherd’s hut set in the heart of North Yorkshire. Perfectly positioned close to Whitby, Staithes, Runswick Bay, Danby, the stunning coastline and the sweeping North York Moors, it offers an ideal base for exploring the very best of sea, countryside and moorland.

Sleeping up to five guests, with 1x king size bed and a triple bunk (with full single size mattresses). The Shepherd’s Rest is thoughtfully designed with real, comfortable beds, a cosy seating area, and a welcoming wood-burning stove for relaxing evenings. Triple glazed throughout, the hut provides excellent insulation and comfort in all seasons, while fairy lights and quality finishes create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Electricity and complimentary Wi-Fi are supplied, and bedding is included with beds made up ready for your arrival.

Outside, guests can enjoy their own picnic table and outdoor fire pit – perfect for long summer evenings or starry nights by the fire.

Hand built by Stephen, the site owner, to the highest standard, The Shepherd’s Rest is brand new for 2026 and showcases exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout.

A short stroll away is a charming shepherd’s hut washroom with hot showers and toilets, alongside a well-equipped shared kitchen. Facilities include fridges, a kettle, twin sinks, a mini oven and hob, microwave, plus pots, pans and utensils – everything you need for a comfortable stay.

On site you’ll also find *Clover Hill Coffee & Honesty Shop*, a lovingly restored horse trailer serving freshly made coffee, hot chocolate and tea, along with a selection of essentials and snacks available to purchase.

Whether you’re planning a family getaway, a group escape or a relaxing break surrounded by nature, The Shepherd’s Rest offers a spacious, cosy and high-quality glamping experience in one of Yorkshire’s most beautiful locations.
