The Redlands Guesthouse: Historic District/Pool/Spa

The Redlands Guesthouse—unplug and unwind.
Private solitude or social interaction—your time, your space, your choice.

What I love about this space:
Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway, traveling for business, visiting family or friends, celebrating a graduation, or working on a solo creative project, the Redlands Guesthouse, located in the heart of Redlands' Historic District, is for you. This airy studio oasis, set back from the street and nestled up a flight of stairs in a separate building behind our 1925 Italian Revival home, invites you to relax and rejuvenate while enjoying its restful space inside or basking outside in the sun in the secluded pool area and garden. The Redlands Guesthouse glows with dappled light. Refreshing views of nearby San Bernardino mountains and backyard treetops beckon from every window. Singles, Couples, traveling professionals, and artists will find the space inspiring.

Amenities for work or pleasure:
The Redlands Guesthouse welcomes you with a complimentary bottle of champagne or wine and is fully furnished with all you might need during your stay. The fully equipped kitchen includes a gas oven with 4-burner stovetop, microwave, coffeemaker, coffee (regular and decaf), creamers, sweeteners, tea assortment, toaster, cooking, basics—spices, sugar, flour, olive oil, oatmeal, granola, & breakfast bars—Calphalon pots and pans, mixing bowls, measuring tools, cookbooks, cooking utensils, place service for 4, sink, dish soap, drainboard, and mini-fridge with freezer. Eat at the expandable pub table, or use the table as a convenient workstation for your laptop. Curl up on the snug, velvety loveseat or on the luxurious queen-size bed and watch your favorite shows on the Internet-and-cable-connected Smart TV. For work convenience, your e-devices will be equipped with secure high-speed internet and a convenient charging station. Printing, copying, scanning, and fax are available in the main house upon request. The updated and sparkly clean bathroom features Kohler fixtures, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and extra toiletries in case you forget something. These and an ironing board and iron are the perfect appointments to get you ready for a night on the town, a business meeting, or some other adventure. All fresh linens provided. Washer/Dryer in main house are available upon request. A twin-size Aerobed is available upon request.

Dip into the pool for a refreshing swim, soak in the hot tub, read a book (or write one!) in any of the numerous comfy garden seating areas, or take pleasure in an evening BBQ and fire ring. Explore the neighborhood! Delight in strolling through the shaded tree-lined neighborhoods (Redlands is famous for its stately mature trees!). Let history take you down memory lane past 100+-year-old Craftsman, Victorian, Queen Anne, Eastlake, Spanish Colonial, and Arts & Crafts homes and bungalows. The Redlands Guesthouse is 6 blocks from the historic A. K. Smiley Public Library (great resource for research; plus, you can get a same-day free library card!), the Lincoln Shrine (the only museum and archives dedicated to the study of Abraham Lincoln and the American Civil War west of the Mississippi River), and the famous Redlands Bowl—which hosts free world-class concerts and musicals Tuesday and Friday nights throughout the summer. 1 block further is the charming downtown district where you can shop for unique clothing and gifts or dine at any one of Redlands’ delicious restaurants. On Thursday evenings, enjoy downtown’s bustling Market Night, with local produce, hand-crafted wares from local artists, and international cuisine booths.

A Relaxing Oasis
We stayed an entire week at the Redlands Guesthouse. We were in town for the Redlands Classic Bicycle Race. From the first moment we met Kitty we felt like we had been old friends. She was more than accommodating! We were the cooks for our son's cycling team and needed a space to put all that food! She cleared out some space in her extra refrigerator and allowed us access all week! The apartment itself was perfect! It was above the garage with a private entrance. It was thoughtfully decorated, with nice little "extras". The bed was very comfortable, there were plenty of towels and even gluten free snacks and a bowl of fresh picked oranges from her tree! It was clean and quiet and a much needed space to come back to after spending a day at the bike race and cooking for hungry athletes! We hope to return and explore this area some more. We would definitely recommend this place to friends and family!

First time in California
Redlands Guesthouse was a great space for us to relax during our trip to California. The location was perfect for us to enjoy a walk around the neighborhood or downtown for supper/coffee/groceries. Kitty was respectful of our space and wonderful to deal with. I would stay here again if in the area.

This was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting family in Redlands. We arrived into e for a great “Cuban” Christmas Eve, stayed through a family wedding a week later and were on our way with no fuss or drama. Great couple are the hosts with the right amount of attentiveness and privacy we needed.

Delightful location in Redlands
This sunny studio over the pool and near the hot tub was beautiful. The owner put a lot of thought into making the room warm and beautiful. It had a great vibe. Had plenty of everything in the kitchen. The bathroom was sparkly. We walked everywhere (to Mu's for Thai food, to the Post Office and library, and to my meetings) from here. Very centrally located. Quiet too. The hosts were very generous and instantly responded if we needed anything.
