"A run down property, poorly maintained. The gym is dirty with 1 bumbell of each weight no pairs, staff barely understands english. Room attendant did a good job. Breakfast was OK and really why i booked here. A real 2 star spot. "

"Clean room. Nice king sized bed. Water view, no balcony. Bar fridge. Clean bathroom and shower. Adequate bath and hand towels. Might sound strange to mention but there were face cloths here while they were none in 2 other properties we stayed in while in Panama city. Large desk. Some english tv channels. Room and building A/C functioned and quiet. Room was quiet except for occasional hallway noise. Only real negative was the black streak the trailed from the a/c vent. Excellent front desk staff that are fluent english speakers. Check in and check out were fast and painless. Taxi service available in the lobby. Attached to a very large and modern shopping mall."

"Excellent hotel and great staff - everybody from the front desk to the restaurant staff to especially the housekeepers really make this hotel so comfortable and welcoming. The rooms & entire property are updated, clean & very comfortable. The location is central, perfect to explore by foot or short taxi rides, and has bars/restaurants, grocery & convenience stores within easy walking distance. We had a suite this time and, wow, it will be hard to go back to a regular room."

"Quite disappointing. The most obvious reason for the poor review is the immediate area the property is in. I read negative reviews about this but didn’t quite get the full scope of what the neighbouring properties were like until we actually stayed there. When a property is in such a rough area, at least if the service was exceptional, it would offset the experience somewhat. This was not the case. Our negative experience and poor customer service was present throughout our stay. When we checked in at 2pm (1 hour early due to our flight arrival time), we were told we had to wait 1/2 hr in the lobby or be charged a significant amount to access the room even though it was vacant and ready. Never in the many hotels we’ve stayed at have we ever been given that option. There was no hand soap in the bathroom - a very basic, standard item. Despite registering for 3 people to stay in the room, there were only 2 pool towels, and no actual blankets or bed pillows for the pull out. The a/c in the living room cut out at some point in the night and restarted late the next afternoon. We tried texting the numbers posted in the room but did not get a response. When I brought it to the attention of the concierge the next day, he told me if we if we “had an emergency, we could have come downstairs to tell him.” Again, the main negative is the area. It’s hard to overlook the deplorable conditions of the the surrounding properties and massive poverty when the rest of the experience is subpar. "

"Overall, the property and staff were amazing, friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The grounds & hotel were beautiful and well-kept, and we especially enjoyed the live entertainment each night. However, some parts of the stay didn’t meet expectations. The excursions and activities booked through the property were quite expensive, and we didn’t feel they matched the value for what we paid. A recurring issue during our stay was the in-room TV, it displayed another guest’s name and room number. Despite visiting the front desk multiple times and having maintenance come by, the issue was never resolved. This was concerning since the TV shows billing details and messages. Restaurant options were limited, and while the food was delicious, portions were small and meals pricey, often around $75 or more for two without alcohol. Most staff members spoke limited English, so communication could be tricky at times. Washcloths weren’t provided automatically, we had to request them. The pool closes when the sun sets and reopens only after morning cleaning, so swimming hours are limited. Be sure to use the mosquito wipes provided, those little things are sneaky and persistent! If you’re not fluent in Spanish, I wouldn’t recommend driving, most road signs & directions are all in Spanish, and driving customs differ from the U.S. Despite the hiccups, the service, scenery, and local charm made the trip memorable especially seeing traffic stop completely to let a sloth cross the road!"
