I had an excellent stay at this hotel! Everything was wonderful, from the comfortable atmosphere to the friendly and professional service. A special thank at the front desk people for being so welcoming, helpful, and attentive throughout my stay. They truly made me feel valued and well taken care of. I highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again!

The hotel with its grand entrance and artwork makes a good impression and the room we with had was large and well appointed with a good shower, comfortable bed and fast WiFi. We had a room overlooking the small pool area so there was little noise in the evening. The train station was a 12 minute walk (uphill) but from there everything was within walking distance for the main sites and there was plenty of restaurants and cafes close by.

Accessibility is a big issue at this property - 12 steps at front entrance and 3 steps at back door. Assistance with luggage is hit and miss. Plus steps on ground floor going anywhere. For a 5 star property, breakfast is modest both in variety and quality. Cellophane wrapped pastry does not belong in the spread. If you are looking for some vegetable, you better like tomato. There is no alternative. The property does maintain some of its past elegance with quality furniture and fittings. However, it has long fell out of step of today's expectations.

As a 5 star hotel, you should expect something special, and you'll get it. There's underground public parking, but the hotel has areas marked off for guest use. There's direct access to the hotel lobby from there also. Didn't use the restaurant, but the cafe was excellent and great value. Location is perfect for easy access to the old town. Id definately return.

Despite the signage and letterheads, this is not a 5-star hotel in our opinion. There are no doormen or bellboys, such staff would be very helpful navigating the 15 or so steep steps from the street to the lobby. There is no complimentary water in the room. The shower is in the bath. Used glasses were not cleaned or replaced. The room is of good size and the beds are comfortable. Location is good.
