Squirrel Cottage is a traditional cottage situated on one of the oldest streets of Seamer village. This row of cottages formed part of the original Main Street, but now lies tucked back in a quiet corner of the village.
The cottage is beautifully presented by the owners and makes a great holiday home for couples or a young family. All the mod cons are provided in the kitchen, which leads through to the cosy living room, with French doors leading to the garden. The enclosed garden is well kept and is ideal for the dog or children.
The benefit of this property is the private parking, just 4 yards from the main door, or the option of using the garage. The bedrooms are spacious and light. The single room provides a small double bed, for that extra comfort.
The village has three very popular pubs that all serve food, as well as a small supermarket, post office, church and village hall. It also has one of the most popular fish and chip shops on this coastline. Cayton Bay is the nearest beach, but Scarborough and Filey are just a few minutes away. Scarborough is a traditional seaside resort with lots to do for all age groups. From theatres, restaurants, the cricket ground, the Sea Life Centre and the very popular Alpamare Water Park, with its wave machines.
Seamer is ideally situated for visiting both the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Wolds. The Dalby Forest with its fantastic bike trails is close by. From Seamer you can catch a train direct to York, voted as one of the top 10 cities to visit. Fantastic museums, fantastic shopping and fantastic history. Don’t miss it! Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Excellent modernisation of an older property to provide an ideal holiday let.
Excellent modernisation of an older property to provide an ideal holiday let. Warm, comfortable, all our needs for a short stay well provided a d the location is very good for both coastal and inland visits. Only suggestion for a slight improvement would be the provision of a low level coffee table or nest of tables in the lounge to place drinks or snacks. The enclosed garden is a big bonus for dogs. With only a short stay, we did not avail ourselves of the local amenities, but a chip shop, bar/restaurant and local shop virtually on the doorstep must be a big plus for those staying in the cottage.

Squirrel cottage has everything you need.
Squirrel cottage has everything you need. It was immaculate and we loved the welcome gifts - cakes and milk in fridge etc. We couldn’t fault anything. It was cosy and snug and it was lovely to get in for the evening and shut the curtains and relax. We went in October. Parking space is opposite and the road itself is quiet. We couldn’t hear a thing at night. The little shop and chippy were used a lot. The shop stocks a lot of coop items. The pub was good also and allows dogs which was fab. We found the whole area to be very dog friendly even in cafes in Scarborough and the castle. The village is a great place as a base. There were lots of walks for dogs within a couple of miles and Scarborough itself is about 10 minutes away. We also drove to flamborough head which is about 20 minutes away in a car. Would definitely recommend and we’d love to go back as you can’t see everything in a couple of days.
