Staying near the airport is great if you have a bus service to get you back to the airport. The train journey to Amsterdam Centraal is so quick (15 mins max) and tickets are €28 unlimited 3 day travel. Super simple :)

The shuttle was more expensive than originally posted and we arrived for the last shuttle just on time only to see we had missed it, thus adding Uber expenses to the cost. I left my phone charger in the room, messaged the hotel the same day to collect it on my way back through Amsterdam but got no reply despite several messages.
