"EXCEPTIONAL ALL AROUND!!! We stayed at the Chequers Inn for 3 nights and this stay was truly my favorite part of our trip. Sue was absolutely lovely. So kind and helpful with questions and wonderful customer service. The Inn itself was full of history, which I loved. And the rooms were VERY clean and cozy. The beds were comfortable and the turn down service every day for the room was great! Fresh towels every day as well. THE FOOD!!! The food was incredible! My family, that stayed elsewhere, ate breakfast here every morning because it was so good. We also had a couple dinners here as well. You can’t go wrong with any of the food for any meal. I’m STILL thinking about this food and would love to go back and have more. The Avocado, Gnocchi and the Fish Stew were all amazing. 10/10 would recommend this place for everything it has to offer, including the location and proximity to everything in town. Everything is a short walk. Give this place a shot. You won’t regret it!"

"Had a great stay at Ivy Cottage. Harry the host was excellent and on hand to help with any issues, and made us and our dog very welcome. Very quiet at night. The TV has all the apps but bring you own log in details to get the best out of it. There is a fan in the bedroom but bring another if you want one in the lounge as well.The Wild Mushroom restaurant is a 10minute walk and is superb. The New Inn pub is OK for a drink, the food was adequate and the staff were very friendly. There is a local shop that stocks essentials/newspapers, but a large Sainsburys is only a 10min drive wayHastings old town and Pett Level beach (at low tide) are musts, as is Batemans (Kiplings House), Rye and Battle. A good value for money stay - 4.5/5."
