Very Relaxing Stay
The cottage was comfortable, location was perfect and outdoor space amazing. Both Oxanna and Brigette were very helpful with the aid of Google translate. We unfortunately couldn't use the main pool as there was a problem with the filtration system and we weren't aware of it until we arrived which was disappointing. Overall we had a lovely relaxing break.

Relaxing Rural Retreat
The characterful renovated gardener’s cottage is sited in the beautiful countryside of the Loire (although it is very dry at the moment) and has all the amenities for a very enjoyable and peaceful holiday. The highlight of the property is the magnificent walled garden and orchard with its abundance of flowers, fruit and vegetables as well as a haven for bird life. We spent a lot of time simply soaking in the tranquility, lounging under the trees and cooling off in the swimming pool. Local amenities are only a short drive away or an hours walk if you feel so inclined. Ghislaine is an excellent host as is Alfons her constant canine companion. We would highly recommend this property especially if you are looking the unwind, enjoy nature and recharge your batteries.

Great accommodation in rural France with the benefit of all modern facilities but loses none of that rustic charm. The kitchen garden and the freedom to roam the estate were key features. Close proximity to charming town of Segre provided good supermarkets, shops, restaurants and easy access to major routes to enable exploring the western side of the Loire valley, The following comments relate to the website: - Our first impressions on arrival were of a lovely location and clean well-equipped accommodation. As the owner was leaving having shown us round the cottage we asked how we accessed the pool and she directed us to the end of the walled garden. She then informed us that we could not use the pool after 3.00pm. We did not know that we had shared use of the pool with the owner. This restriction is not stated on the English part of the website, although it does mention in that we had restricted access to the Walled Garden. The owner did recognise this omission and did text us on Monday to say that we could use the pool after 3.00pm. I feel this should be made clearer at the outset as I would not have booked if I had known we did not have unrestricted use of the pool and it was shared with the Owner as it is an essential part of our holiday experience. I would also add that when we went up to the pool on the Sunday early afternoon there were children’s toys all over the side of the pool and towels on the four loungers. We did not feel we could move anything so had a swim and went back to the cottage so unable to lay by the pool. The toys were cleared up for the Monday, but towels continued to be left on the loungers until finally we cleared them on the Wednesday to be able to use at least two loungers. The Owner mentioned at the outset that problems existed with Wifi and that she was in touch with the provider. We had no connection throughout the week and as our daughter runs her own business this was a serious omission, and again had we known that Wifi was an issue we would not have booked this accommodation. We gave this feedback to the Owner when we left, and she informed us that there would not be Wifi available until the end of August. She said had we needed to access the Wifi we should have asked, and we could have used hers but as she had not said that on our arrival we would not have known that was an option.

Lovely little gem in the Loire
lovely secluded location. Close enough to the delightful little town of Segre or a 45 minute drive to Saumur, 30 mins to Angers and a lovely little 15 min drive to Chateau Gontier. The property is well stocked , think BBQ, wine opener, can opener, fridge freezer, candles , etc...in a well stocked kitchen. Lovely design , practical with 2 double beds and 2 single beds. Upstairs bathroom was fantastic for water pressure and a bath as well. Beds are very comfortable. downstairs TV but more importantly the garden - just incredible. It felt like a Secret Garden or something from a Lewis Carroll novel. I would like to thank Ghislaine for her fantastic hospitaltiy.

What a treasure
The Gardener’s House is very well equipped and in the most beautiful of settings. To look out over and walk through the gardens is a pleasure. The countryside offers a quiet setting for rest and relaxation. Ghislaine welcomed us warmly and generously shared her garden’s bounty and homemade products. The home served as an excellent base to bicycle through the wheat fields of the northern Loire Valley. Easy access to the tow paths along the Mayenne River is a real bonus for cyclists.

Lovely cottage with unique garden
We stayed two weeks in the cottage in august. We enjoyed a warm and friendly welcome. The cottage is cosy, the kitchen is well-equipped and the beds are very comfortable. The view from the master bedroom is truly splendid. The backdoor give you access to a very large walled vegetable garden that is absolutely unique. We made great meals with fresh salad and tomatoes. The pool of the owners is accessible and there is a private pool in the front lawn which our kids loved. Within an hour’s drive there are more than 80 castles. The nearby city’s of Angers and Nantes are also worth a visit. This is a place of peace and quiet and a lovely holiday destination for all ages.

Hellauf begeistert - ein fantastischer Ort
Um es direkt zu sagen - ein ganz traumhafter, spezieller Ort. Wir -13, 17, 20, 46, 50 - haben uns dort sehr sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Haus ist top eingerichtete und ausgestattet. Man kommt an und die Entspannung kann starten - auch Dank unserer netten Vermieterin und ihrer Art, ihre Gäste willkommen zu heißen. Ein großer Korb mit Gemüse aus diesem fantastischen Garten stand direkt in der Küche. Und damit zu dem Anwesen: dieser einmalige Garten, der sich direkt vor der Tür befindet - unglaublich toll. Er ist innerhalb einer alten Einfriedung top angelegt, Blumen, Obst, Gemüse, Kräuter, Schmetterlinge, Bienen - und das alles mannigfaltig. Wunderschön. Drumherum das Anwesen, Wald, alte Gemäuer, Scheunen, Wiesen, diese kleine Kapelle - alles frei zugänglich (bis auf das Wohnhaus, ein schönes kleines Schloss, der Besitzerin natürlich). Nicht zu vergessen sind natürlich auch die beiden Pools, die wir sehr genossen haben. Dieser Ort ist gut für die Seele - vielen Dank! Wir werden wiederkommen.

Très bon séjour dans cette propriété dont le potager et le château sont merveilleusement entretenus. La maison a toute les facilités essentielles, la literie est très bonne et la maison était propre à notre arrivée (si ce n’est les vitres qui auraient besoin d’un petit coup). Nous sommes tombés sur la semaine de tonte des pelouses mais avons pu retrouver le silence recherché après avoir discuté avec le jardinier. La proximité d’Angers est essentielle pour les visites à faire mais suffisante pour une semaine de vacances.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour à Marans malgré le temps (énormément de pluie). Quelques petits disfonctionements au niveau de la tuyauterie mais qui ne nous ont pas empêchés de passer un bon séjour. A noter que le matériel pour enfant mériterait un petit coup de neuf et que le jardin n’est pas clôturé.

Nous avons passé un moment très agréable dans cette charmante Maison du potager, très fonctionnelle et bien équipée. Elle est située dans un le parc du Château, et comme son nom l'indique dans l'enceinte d'un grand potager. Le calme absolu. La propriétaire, très agréable et disponible nous a invités à profiter du parc pour nous balader, et de la piscine (cadre naturel superbe). Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir.

Séjour parfait au calme
La maison est parfaitement équipée et bénéficie de tout le nécessaire comme à la maison. La vue sur le potager est magnifique, quel plaisir de se réveiller avec cette vue tous les matins ! Le domaine aux alentours est immense, nous avons pu y croiser des chevaux et quelques poules. La propreté était impeccable et Ghislaine très disponible pour nous accueillir et répondre à nos questions. La piscine privative est vraiment très grande, notre fille de 3 ans et nous en avons bien profité. Peut être qu’une bâche chauffante pourrait compléter l’équipement pour les jours nuageux. La région est très jolie avec de nombreuses activités à faire aux alentours à une heure maximum à chaque fois. Le seul bémol fut le réseau mobile, parfois à certains endroits de la maison nos téléphones ne passaient pas. Le wifi ne fonctionnait pas lors de notre séjour nous avons utilisé une connexion câblée pour l’ordinateur. Malgré ce détail nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir dès que l’occasion se représentera.

Très bon séjour d’une semaine en famille avec enfants et petits-enfants dans un environnement magnifique. Nous avons fait de belles balades dans le potager et dans les bois de la propriété, entre autres activités car la région propose beaucoup de lieux à visiter. Nous avons malheureusement endommagé une des tables de chevet en forme de fleur dans la chambre du rez-de-chaussée lors d'une chasse au mille-pattes. Nous espérons trouver une solution avec la propriétaire car cette table n’existe plus dans le commerce. A noter si vous avez un chien : le jardin réservé aux locataires n’est pas entièrement clos.

La Devansaye is een paradijsje in de Loire. Het vakantie huis ligt aan een prachtig onderhouden tuin met heel veel rozen maar ook groenten en fruitbomen. Het is een lust voor het oog. Aan de achterkant is de ruime tuin volledig ter beschikking van de gasten met voldoende zitjes en een extra opgebouwd zwembad. Het huis zelf is van alle gemakken voorzien met een landelijke charme. Internet is niet sterk, aan de wifi en ook het matige bereik van 4G kun je echt merken dat je op het platte land bent. Niet erg wat mij betreft, maar handig om te weten. Ghislaine is een geweldige gastvrouw. Ze was altijd goed bereikbaar, zij spreekt goed Engels en is buitengewoon hartelijk. Ook bracht zij verse groenten uit de tuin, erg leuk en lekker. Het zwembad is goed en schoon, niet heel diep, maar voor spelen en zwemmen prima. In de omgeving zijn Angers en Nantes mooie en gezellige steden. Zoek je rust op een charmante plek dan is dit zeker een aanrader.

Nous avons passé avec notre chat un excellent séjour dans la maison du potager pleine de charme et tout-à-fait confortable malgré un temps difficile. Notre propriétaire a été pleine d'attentions envers nous. C'est un lieu idéal pour découvrir les nombreux châteaux à proximité et pour faire de belles balades à vélo dans une campagne sauvegardée.

Nous avons passé 4 jours très agréables dans cette belle petite maison très fonctionnelle et bien équipée. La décoration a été faite avec beaucoup de goût. Il n'est pas possible de trouver un endroit plus calme pour se reposer tout en étant très proche de toutes les commodités de la ville voisine à moins de 5 kilomètres. Absolutely wonderful country experience
A lovely house on the potagerie! We spent nearly a week enjoying the garden, the time out of the city, and exploring a little of the surrounds. Ghislane is generous and lovely, our dog was happy to have so much space, and our children swam every day, played football and baseball on the grass and generally loved being in the countryside. We LOVED the basket of fruits and vegetables straight from the garden that Ghislane left for us to enjoy! Noted - all the beds were very good quality, and we slept perfectly. The WIFI was not very good, but this was perfect for us to mostly disconnect and be together.
