Perfect location - wish we could have stopped longer and explored the area more! Delicious food, great selection of drinks and a great clean room with a very comfy bed. What really made our stay were the staff there - everyone was so friendly and accommodating with our dog and made us laugh a lot! A truly wonderful gem!

A local delight

We often stay here to check the perimeter fence of the wild wood at Carrifran. The proprietors always remember us and we always feel welcome and valued. Hot showers, good filling food and a decent pint in the evening - all essential and always avaiable. Great value. Can't beat it.

The hotel has a good atmosphere, with friendly staff. The room was generally comfortable, with a nice view of the adjacent hills. The only 'niggle' was that the shower took a while to warm up, and changed temperature a lot. The food was also very good. We would definitely go back.

The room was light and airy with lovely views over the countryside, tastefully decorated, had tea/coffee making facilities loved the little touches like the tray mat and vintage cups, shower was good. The hosts and staff were amazing, so friendly, had a good hearty breakfast in the morning, would definitely recommend to stay here.

Great place in a beautiful location

Perfect! A cosy pub with great food, staff and rooms. If you want a quiet place in the middle of some beautiful Scottish Borders countryside then this is the perfect place.

Excellent value for money

The staff were most welcoming, friendly and efficient. Our bedroom was very comfortable and offered wonderful views. The food was really excellent with good sized quality portions. We loved our short stay and will definitely return.

Brilliant dog friendly pub with first class rooms. The only downside was when I dined in the evening in the very busy restaurant the staff although very friendly just couldn't cope. I ordered a lovely pasta dish and requested some Parmesan cheese and a glass of wine with my meal. The reply was we have no cheese .. the wine never appeared. Spoilt my meal. Breakfast was great .. such a busy restaurant needs more staff to me the needs of customers. Thank you

Historic hotel and pub in an idyllic location!

We loved our stay at the Gordon Arms. The owners were exceptionally kind, providing us with sightseeing recommendations, regaling us with the history of the place, and serving us excellent fare-- even when they had closed for a race! We cannot wait to return with the rest of our family!
