It is very central in Shrewsbury, near the station and the main shopping and historic part of Shrewsbury. The property is old, but comfortable and well cared for.
Unfortunately myself I couldn’t make the stay asicame down wif the lurgy but my friends said the it was ideal for a place to rest ur head in a great location x
The vaults is what it is, a charming older property, welcoming, friendly nice. The staff were fantastic and so helpful. Cannot hesitate to recommend, would not hesitate to stay again, especially for the views of the Castle itself
Getting to the room through the actual pub may bother some people but it's fine (if a little odd) with me. Very handy for the station and an excellent pizza takeaway opposite.
The staff is nice and the location is great, but my room was in an unacceptable condition, smelling very strongly of cigarette smoke and with no adequate way to air it out. The sheets and towels were clean, but there were stains on the walls and furniture, and the furnishings were cheap and sometimes broken. Club music is played loudly on weekends until the early morning hours -- too loud for earplugs to block out. I would not recommend staying here.
Top floor of the place did not help, smokers congregating at the entrance to the hotel, old carpeting on the stairs and room, windows dirty, mold throughout the bathroom, beds old and uncomfortable, altogether an unpleasant experience
First visit to Shrewsbury and location of this hotel close to station and walking distance of town center was ideal. Friends staying in another hotel on edge of town easy to walk to. Service very efficient. Doesn't do food in house.
A good job they put no frills in their description. This place has a lovely friendly welcome and is clean. But it is tired and worn. That's ok,just, but not for £70 a night. To describe the room as a Suite, is misleading
Great location for the station, just three minutes walk. Good pizza place just across the road (although allow at least 20 minutes for them to prepare it!). Close to town centre (up a hill). Accommodation OK, although all rooms up a steep narrow staircase hidden inside the pub. Very small shower rooms. Noisy until around 10.30 p.m. at weekends, but beds OK.
Nice pub, wood floors and wood every where... stairs up to the rooms were awesome - if this is going to be the standard I will be back.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Room was small, but clean and tidy with everything we needed.
Downside was the toilet - seat not attached and bowl moving around as not attached properly to the wall - the bathroom defintiely had an "unfinished" feel to it.
Room very spacious, plenty of tea & coffee facilities, plenty of towels but bathroom was very small. Lovely beer garden on the roof terrace and even though a pub, couldn’t hear the noise in our room.
I liked the self contained shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand soap dispensers in the en suite, very handy as i forgot my own! Also, we loved that there was access to a iron and the shower was not to dissapoint! A lovely and warm welcome from the start and very patient with us, even if we were running late! Only thing i would have liked was possibly the room number engraved or written on the room key somehow. Otherwise a very pleasurable stay and we would definitely visit and stay again!
The room was spotless.Bed very comfy. Lots of tea, coffee etc. Nice toiletries in containers in the bathroom which had great shower. Lots of fresh towels. Near to the station and town centre. Great value for money. Good range of beers etcetra. They tell you they dont do breakfasts which is fine as there are plenty of local facilities for this
This was a short break the hotel was clean and tidy staff very helpful and the vaults was situated very central to town centre ,all in all very pleased.
