"We were amazed at the beauty of this location. The “Cabin in the Sky” is charming and well appointed with everything we needed. The cabin is obviously well loved and cared for. It’s quite the treasure. The town of Index is rich with local history and a testimony to the hard work of those who preceded us. Then there’s the mountains!! Must have taken 30 photos at different times of the day. Will enjoy editing them and sharing them with friends and family. We were very impressed with how well the owner communicated with us, making for a problem free arrival and departure. We hope to return sometime when those mountains are covered with snow."

"The cabin (Old Mill) is beautiful inside, and very cozy. The owners of the property are responsive and attentive, and they were very accommodating of our dog. They even had a little book about the cabin and its history, and the nearby gazebo. The waterwheel is charming, though I'm bummed that our dog didn't want to try to spin it. (His loss.) The cabin had an outdoor outlet that the owners let us use to trickle charge our EV with the level 1 charger we brought. The incinerating toilet takes a little getting used to, but I'd just make sure to keep the bathroom window open. Overall, the cabin is a cute little spot for when you want to force yourself to not work and just chill for a short time."

"This was a great little place to stay. I just needed somewhere for the night. It was clean, quiet. My room had a full refrigerator sink. Microwave was a great room. Was it a five-star hotel? No, but I don't need that. So if you just need a great little place to stay for the night, come here."

"Such a cozy home right on the S. Fork Stilly. We loved everything about our stay at this cabin; by far the best vacation rental we've had. The deck and the patio were the best, we really enjoyed drinking coffee right above the river every morning. We'll definitely stay here again on our next trip if available."
