The Ridges Resort on Lake Chatuge

"This property was beautiful. Located right on the lake, the morning and evening views were gorgeous. The description is a bit deceiving. You get the idea there is a lounge, dining, and other amenities on site, and this is just not true. Within walking distance on, or adjacent to the property you will find food and drinks, but within the lodge itself is only a small coffee shop with pre-made sandwiches and random drinks. The website makes it sound like a true meal and drinks are more convenient that what they really are. It looks to be an older lodge that has been renovated. In our room, the fit and finish was not great. They attached a modern barn slider door to the bathroom and left a 2–3-inch gap because of some older and thick base boards. If privacy in the bathroom is a must, you would have not been pleased with this. The fan in the bathroom did not work so it fogged badly during each shower, and the in-room refrigerator was frozen over. Appeared it had not been serviced or replaced in a long time. Other than that, staff was wonderful, hot water and water pressure for showers was GREAT, and the swimming pool was a bonus. My family will stay there again, but only if the rate is right. We stayed during the week, so rates were not bad at all. Their weekend rates I did not believe were a good value."

"It's a very nice place just somewhat outdated. There are some areas that need maintenance (balconies and electrical outlets, most notably) and used linens were piled in the hallway of our floor overnight."
Dahlonega Resort and Vineyard

"OMG! We travel a lot and my wife is very critical of the hotels where we stay. We both fell in love with Dahlonaga Resort and Vineyards. I love the grounds as it took me back to my happy-fun days at summer camp in the same area. It was a nice surprise they had Netflix too. You have to also try Foothills Grill! We are planning to have our children and grandchildren join us next time. CAN'T WAIT!"
