"Horrible. Room looked nothing like the pictures. Even paid more for a nicer room. No parking up top. Bathroom was just scary. Daugther and us refused to shower in whatever that was. Weird hole in the ceiling which who knows who could have crawled through. Tv wasn’t even connected to the wall. Was held on with duct tape which fell off the wall. Expedia was no help with refund. Hotel was no help with refund because we used Expedia. Never got refund for $140. Went down the road not even half a mile and got a very nice clean room for $82 at Super 8."
"The Retro Inn was the perfect stay after a day at Mesa Verde. Staff were very friendly and informative. The property was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The vibe is cute. I loved the Dirty Harry photos in my 1973 room. Breakfast was ok, nothing fancy but good sustenance. I would definitely stay there again."
"Location was wonderfully close to N P. Room was large and bed comfortable. I think there were lots of rooms available but they had us all stacked together so it was a noisy night. The drinking men next door swearing, the kids upstairs running for hours and the midnight video game that came blaring through the walls! I called security on the last one and he did shut him down in minutes. Could have at least a room or two between guests."
"At check-in staff was short. One person was checking guests in and a line had formed. The lobby felt cramped. Signage is minimal. The entry for disabled guests was not marked on the curbside and not visible due to the shrubbery. This is a multiple building facility. How rooms were numbered in what direction was not near the lobby and the staff explanation of location was confusing.
Dinner in the Metate room was fabulous. Breakfast the next morning at Far View Terrace Cafe was awful. The building and food were frigid. The signage to locate food was confusing. Checkout was on the other side of the room. The menu boards did not make sense; what was included in a menu item was unclear and overlapped between menu choices.
In the room the soap dispenser opened if you tried to obtain soap and very little soap dispensed. The view was fabulous from the balcony.
You had to locate the amenities yourself. There is a good game room in the basement with board and card games, puzzles, a library section and an elevator if you had difficulty with the multiple stairs. Hours of use were not posted, however. The elevator opens inside the Metate Room which closed @ 9PM. It would have been good for us to know this since we had stayed until after this time.
Lighting on the sidewalk from the check-in area to our room was present but not very effective. The shrubbery had blocked the lights. Perhaps the lighting should be above ground level and project to the sidewalk."
"Delicious breakfast with a lot of options. The ladies serving breakfast worked very hard.
The hotel was clean, room and common areas.
Loved the hot tub."
"There was ample parking at the location. Staff at the motel were nice and friendly. The flooring in the room was ok. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioner kept the room cool."
