Beautiful property
Just back from a short stay in this property. It has loads of quirk and charm. Host was easy to communicate with and friendly. A couple things to point out for future visitors that we weren't aware of. There is a large dip in the farm track on way to property, so avoid bringing any 'low' cars as you'll get stuck. Also one of the bathrooms (with the bath) is an ensuite to a bedroom. Lovely stay and would definitely recommend.

Beautiful & cosy cottage which was ideal for a family get together. Country walks on the doorstep and a local shop a short walk away. House had everything we needed, including wellies for muddy walks :)

Stevens Siblings Rally.
Absolutely beautiful house and grounds... House was already warm on arrival. Loved the notes in frames above the range cooker and fireplace...Hosts were there but not intrusive in any way. Had a lovely away from it all break with some great walks and pub finds.. Heartily recommend the Strode Arms at Cranmore near the East Somerset Railway as a place to eat. - Watching squirrels in the apple tree in the mornings with fresh coffee is a must. Will definitely be returning - 5/5 or 10/10 does not do this place justice... A great find on VRBO and thank you so much for letting us share your wonderful home. Loved it.

A lovely family getaway
A spacious holiday home with a brilliant kitchen with everything you could need. The sitting room was also lovely and big with smart TV and a great fire with lots of logs. The garden was lovely with plenty of seating. We had a great break and visited Barrington House (National Trust), the Fleet Air Museum, Clarkes village outlet shopping and Longleat Safari park on the way home. Good communication with the owner oh and fantastic shower pressure! Thank you for our lovely stay.

Perfect quiet getaway cottage
The cottage is picturesque and surrounded by beautiful countryside. It was equipped with everything we needed from cooking equipment and seasonings, to board games, to even feminine hygiene products in the bathroom. It was perfect for our peaceful getaway. Highly recommend!

Beautiful and relaxing
We loved everything about this property. It was charming, quiet, dog-friendly, comfortable and friendly host. We enjoyed relaxing with a book, walking around the local community, eating out at a great pub within walking distance and visiting Shelton Mallet prison on a rainy day. We would love to revisit and would highly recommend this property to others.

Great stay!
Super house in what feels like a secret garden location! Very comfortable with a kitchen ready for serious cooking. Local wild swimming currently not an option due to water quality- this was the only downside.

Fabulous escape to the country
Such a lovely property in a quiet, tranquil setting. It had everything to be a home from home. The garden was lovely and private & you could walk across the field to do wild swimming if you wanted. Michael was on hand if you needed anything. There was a fabulous pub (Crossed Keys) within walking distance (10 minute stroll - if that) which does lovely food. (Take a torch as it is very dark walking down the private lane which takes you to the property.) the property is within easy reach of places like Wells, Chedder Gorge, Lyme Regis and Weymouth to name but a few.

Fabulous cottage. Wonderful trip. Perfect location.
Thank you so much for the perfect location for our Glastonbury escapade. The cottage was perfect in every way and met our every need. Comfortable beds, hot water and well stocked kitchen. Quiet, out of the way place to stay yet close to many interesting walks and places to visit. Very comfortable and relaxing. Large private garden with plenty of outdoor furniture. We enjoyed a lovely family weekend to celebrate a big birthday.

Great getaway to Somerset
The farmhouse was spacious and accommodating esp the kitchen and living room for our party of 6 adults. Lovely location with beautiful walks straight from the garden. We had beautiful weather which always helps but it was a great place anyway and a good base for some lovely local attractions.

Beautiful property in peaceful location
We stayed for three nights in May. The weather was lovely so we took advantage of the lovely big garden and BBQ. The barn is fantastic - very large and comfortable with everything you need. There are lovely walks right on the doorstep. We went to local national trust houses and Wells. Highly recommended. All in all a very restful stay in a great location. Michael was really helpful and quick in replying to any questions. Would stay again.

A lovely holiday in the countryside
This is a most wonderful private, peaceful and quiet home and garden. Inside, the ground floor sitting room and very large kitchen are beautiful, with even better views. The 3upstairs bedrooms were comfortable, large, with two good bathrooms. We spent every evening sitting on the patio gardens. The location is superb for walking through the orchards, with local pubs offering excellent meals. We entertained friends often. Parking is easy. Local Trust sites abound. Our hosts met us on arrival and were charming, but not at all intrusive. Our fortnight holiday went by too quickly; we shall definitely plan to return.

With so many things to see or do within a 20 minutes radius and walks from the door we have had an amazing weekend. The cottage has everything needed to enjoy the time spent here, from bbq to games and dog friendly spaces. Just wonderful!

Absolutely idyllic 👌
We have just returned from a wonderful stay at this property for the Easter weekend . Hidden down a long driveway this beautiful house comes into view and received wows from us all. Spotlessly clean with a huge kitchen and a lovely large garden which our dogs thoroughly enjoyed. It's so peaceful and we were very lucky with the weather, a wonderful weekend was had by all , we will return 👍

Beautiful home
We had a wonderful stay at West Lydford, the house was everything we could have wished for and more. Being able to explore countryside and footpaths straight from the front door was a treat. The kitchen has a lovely big table, and the lounge is very cosy and perfect for board games. The house setting is very peaceful. We really enjoyed our time away walking the Mendips. Thank you for letting us stay.

Lovely Getaway!
We loved this property. It was perfect for the family weekend get together we had planned. Tucked away but with a pub and shop in walking distance and beautiful walks in every direction without having to drive. Being dog friendly was a bonus. The rooms are all comfortable and the woodburner made for cosy evenings for games and catching up. Thoughtful touches such as welly boots, tea, coffee, milk, dishwasher tablets and toiletries were appreciated. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

A well appointed, comfortable cottage for six adults. The log burner was a bonus and made for cosy evenings. We enjoyed cooking and eating in the lovely large kitchen. A real success for a family get together close to Millfield.

Gorgeous house. Great weekend away.
Really lovely stay. Not far off the A303 up the A37 so easy for us to get to. The house itself is beautiful - loads of features (fireplace! Balcony looking over from upstairs into the entrance hall!) which are even nicer than the photos. There is an enormous garden and the kids had fun running around, picking apples and on a wooden fort/slide. Rooms were clean. Free fast WiFi (husband was able to take work zoom calls from there). Tea and coffee were provided. Well stocked kitchen, with space for us all to sit round. We also walked to the pub (the Cross Keys) for a drink (take a torch for the lane if it is dark on the way back!).
