"Everything was just as the description said. The area was quiet, the cottage was clean and provided the minimalist feel yet it had just enough modernized tech to be comfortable. My favorite thing was that seed of inspiration as a tiny home given to me throughout my stay. Extremely grateful for the hospitality as well."

"We had a wonderful stay! It was the perfect place to get some rest and relaxation. We turned off our phones and just enjoyed each other’s company. Everything was perfect! The bed was comfy, the shower was amazing and the hot tub at night under the stars was perfection! We also enjoyed our time around the fire pit. We made most of our meals there with no issues, though the addition of a toaster oven would be nice. 10/10 recommend staying here to get away from it all!!!"

"A great place to stay in a quiet neighborhood. All amenities are thoughtfully included, and the kitchen is well-stocked. We all stayed busy and had a fun time with the arcade topping each others’ high scores on Galaga. Most importantly, the beds are comfortable and the a/c works good. It’s a nice house to stay and Josh is very responsive to questions."

"We stayed at Modern Forest Escape for nine days, and it was everything our family was hoping for. The home is beautifully designed and packed with amenities. Between the private movie theater, pickleball court, ping pong table, basketball court, sauna, game room, and hot tub, there was always something to do. Our kids loved it so much that they often preferred staying at the house instead of heading out for activities around town.The area surrounding the house is beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed going for walks and sitting on the porch in the mornings, drinking our coffee while listening to the birds. We saw deer and rabbits from our window almost every morning.The hosts were wonderful—friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure we had a great stay. If a small issue came up, their staff responded quickly and took care of it without hesitation.We made so many great family memories here and truly enjoyed every minute of our stay. We would absolutely recommend Modern Forest Escape to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing mountain getaway, and we hope to book it again next summer when we return to the area."
Restored Mars Hill Home on 1 Acre: Walk to Town!

"This is a charming, renovated farmhouse on a beautiful old orchard, frequently with deer wandering in the "back 40" at dusk. This was our second stay at Apple at the Hill. We returned because it truly deserves the description of providing a home away from home. It's not fancy, but it is clean and so welcoming. The "outfitting" of the kitchen is amongst the best we have ever experienced amongst our various stays. They clearly try to provide everything you might need for any stay, short or long. There is only one bathroom (toilet/shower/sink with mirror) but they have added a nice, large, well-lit, two sink vanity with mirrors in the hallway adjacent to the three bedrooms which made it workable for us, even with a teenage granddaughter. When you arrive, you find a nice basket of snacks, some pastries for breakfast and a welcome note. While it's about a 15-20 minute drive to Asheville, it's an easy drive, So don't rule it out as a potential bargain for a large family needing multiple rooms and wanting to avoid eating at restaurants for all your meals. Highly recommended for a fun family stay."
