Tranquil Retreat or Romantic Getaway in Beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

  • A beautiful log home apartment in the woods. A tranquil, peaceful and private getaway in a safe area. Also handicap accessibility. A short distance from Lake Michigan with spectacular views of the Mackinac Bridge, islands and wildlife. Near Sand Bay, a sandy beach for swimming and kayaking. Many tourist attractions: Mackinac Island, Tahquamenon Falls, Sault Locks, forts and museums.
    I have lived in Saint Ignace all my life - my roots here go back to 1885. My family are some of the first settlers in this quaint city. I LIVE ON SITE. My home is divided with private entrance for visitors. No shared space. Enjoy my beautiful island flower garden with pond and lighthouse and the train garden. Wildlife including deer and even a moose have stopped by for a visit. Truly a tranquil romantic paradise!

    For those with allergies - rest assured that there has never been a pet inside the log home apartment.

This was the perfect place! Beautiful cabin in a beautiful wooded area, very clean, everything we needed. The hostess lives on site, which is comforting. We had agreat time, very close to the docks and the casino, also some terrific restaurantsin the area. Will definitely be back!

Wonderful host!

We gifted this trip to my in-laws for their 50th anniversary. They LOVED everything about the trip. The cottage was clean and beautiful. The host was wonderful and made their stay very special.

What a fantastic place to stay. Quaint and quiet. Clean with everything you need. It’s close to the bridge, the ferry to the island and Mackinaw City to name just a few. Mary Lynn is a wonderful host and very responsive. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Great location

The location and our stay were great! The host was extremely welcoming and the perfect host! It is close to the beach, and to the St Ignace ferry to Mackinac Island which we preferred over the busier Mackinaw City port. The house was roomy with lots of amenities. The gardens were beautiful in July and it was a very quiet setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great Getaway

Loved the little log home away from home. It was the perfect location and Mary Lynn was just wonderful. It was so beautiful, so peaceful and so quiet. Tucked away in a beautiful area. Would highly recommend staying here. If we are back this way and need a place to stay this will be number one on our list.

Perfect weekend getaway

This was such a beautiful property. The views of the woods and garden create the perfect backdrop for the cozy log home. Everything was neat and clean and Mary Lynn made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. It was the perfect place to come home to after exploring the U.P. each day.

Our host was very friendly and accommodating. When we arrived and she was there to greet us. The cabin was very clean and a small loaf of homemade banana bread was waiting to welcome us to our stay. She let us use her golf cart to cruise along the coast and get beautiful pictures of the bridge. The property was gorgeous and well taken care of. Unfortunately we had to cut our vacation short but enjoyed our time while we were up there.

Anniversary Trip 💕

Mary Lynn is by far the best host I have ever booked with! Great communication and truly thoughtful, she made sure we had everything we needed for our weekend getaway to Mackinaw Island. The homemade banana bread and access to her golf cart were added bonuses! We highly recommend this beautiful log cabin!

This property was just outside of St. Ignace. The rental unit is attached to the host's house. Mary is a wonderful host and left some pumpkin bread in the refrigerator on my arrival. The unit has one bed, open living, dining and kitchen area, washer and dryer and my stay was peaceful and enjoyable. The area is quiet, relaxing and a short ride in the golf cart or a bit of a walk will take you to the lake. Mary took me to the lake and a nearby park. She's a great tour guide! I highly recommend!

Cute slice of paradise!

We were immediately greeted by the property owner who made us feel very special and cared for. She offered her golf cart for a beautiful ride along the Lake Michigan shore. There were special treats and flowers waiting for us when we went in. Very inviting and well cared for property. Loved our visit and hope to come back again.

Rest in middle of our road trip

This apartment was ideal for us. All amenities were outstanding. Quiet location with a lakeshore walk just a block away. The hostess lived in the town all her life and gave great tips on places to eat and visit. Beautiful gardens. Washer/dryer. We are pleased to rate all aspects 5 stars.

The property was beautiful! The landscaping was impressive and lovely. The private apartment attached to the home was very clean and inviting. Michigan road trip

My husband and I stayed here for a quick visit to mackinac Island. I wish we could've stayed longer. It was such a cute and quiet place. Not to mention Mary Lynn is great. When my husband and I were pulling out of the drive we both said that felt like staying at a family members place. Would totally recommend. And I hope we get a chance to go back someday.

Beyond Beautiful

Words cannot describe how incredibly beautiful and precious this place is. The location is amazing with spectacular views of the bridge and the property of the host, Mary Lynn has the most spectacular flower and train garden. Speaking of the host, Mary Lynn is the most gracious, kind and accommodating person. She made our stay so special and memorable. We came as friends and when we left we felt like family. We loved our stay and cannot wait to make plans for next trip.
