Villa Chez Shell is a two bedroom Pool Villa located near the Westin Resort in Great Cruz Bay and is just 5 minutes from downtown Cruz Bay.

Enjoy evening sunsets over Great Cruz Bay and the twinkling lights of St. Thomas once the sun has set for the evening.

The home has two Master Suites each with en-suite Master Baths with custom showers. The entire home has beautiful quarry stone floors imported from the Middle East.

The main entrance at Chez Shell is graced by Old Chicago Brick walkways and tropical gardens bordered with palm trees, fragrant frangipani flowers, tree orchids and other tropical foliage.

Once you step inside the front entry, the well-appointed great room opens up before you. A view of Great Cruz Bay and beyond soothe your senses. Proceed through the great room and enter the completely Screened Outdoor Living Area.

Beyond the Screened Outdoor Living Area is a Sun Deck with a table for outdoor dining and the view of Great Cruz Bay, the Sandy Beach and Swaying Palm Trees at the Westin Beach Resort.

The Screened in Porch area is a great spot to read a book or enjoy evening conversations over cocktails while the sun sets in the distance. Just off the kitchen/dining area you step out to the brand new 20 X 35 pool veranda featuring classic Old Chicago Brick Pavered sun deck and native stone walls overlooking Great Cruz Bay and St. Thomas Beyond.

Every room is appointed with plenty of windows to ensure that you enjoy both gorgeous ocean/harbor views and garden views regardless of where you rest.

Preparing meals in Chez Shell's well-equipped kitchen is a pleasure with plenty of lighting, great airflow and ample space to prepare your meals. Dine inside adjacent to the kitchen or outdoors on the Sun Deck. There is comfortable seating for six at the either of the indoor or outdoor dining tables with views of the Ocean/Harbor and the Island of St. Thomas.

It is a wonderful Villa for families with inside access to both of the Master Bedroom Suites directly from the Great Room. The Master Suites are air conditioned, one with garden views and one with views of Great Cruz Bay Harbor and the Ocean beyond.

Chez Shell also has multiple living spaces inside and out so you may enjoy the active harbor views and sunset views towards St Thomas from many different areas.

The decor is warm and inviting and in tune with Caribbean Style living. Most of the furnishings are from India, Bali, the Southwest United States which includes various antiques from around the world. Chez Shell was totally remodeled in 2007 by a talented builder out of New Mexico.

The house is just a short 5-minute walk to the beaches at Great Cruz Bay and Chocolate Hole and a short drive to the famous North Shore Beaches.

Relaxing trip!

Incredible home and location!

We were so happy with our stay. We come to ST. John every year but this was the first time just with our daughter. The views, the location to town, and the layout was perfect for our family. The open air concept was refreshing, especially when it rained. And we slept so well with the air conditioned bedrooms. We cooked at home for most meals, and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Thank you Sheree and family for sharing your beautiful home, we can’t wait to come stay again!

Amazing Views!

We were quite pleased and impressed with Chez Shell. The pictures and descriptions were exactly as described. The location was perfect and the views were absolutely amazing. Communicating with the owners was also easy, especially with the hurricane that was approaching soon before our arrival date. We would stay at this VRBO again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend!!!

Perfect location, amazing views

Villa Chex Shell is the perfect spot for two couples. It's located a short drive from downtown on a secluded road overlooking Great Cruz Bay and the Westin. Perfect size for two couples, private pool with oversized patio and views forever. This is out second stay and the villa and won't be our last. Sheree is a great host and provides beach towels, chairs and a cooler for your day trips. Highly recommend!

Wonderful week!

Beautiful home with the most incredible views. The house was well appointed with everything you need - including beach chairs and a cooler. Close to great restaurants in town while still being in a quiet neighborhood. Construction next door was a non-issue given all the greenery surrounding the house. Relax & Unwind at Chez Shell

We had a great time on St. John while staying at Chez Shell. The villa was great and had everything we needed, including a wonderful sunset view! We enjoyed the pool and deck areas with their great views. The screened living area allowed us to feel the breezes and enjoy the view, yet be out of the sun. 19 night stay of pure relaxation.

Chez Shell is perfectly located and everything is 5 to 9 minutes away. We ate out 1/2 the time and grilled at the Villa the other 1/2. The Kitchen has everything you could ask for. We even found a crock pot and made a recipe in that while we enjoyed the pool. The views are amazing. You will not be disappointed with the property. We plan on returning again in the future.

Gorgeous view

Chez Shell is exactly as represented from the pictures and description on VRBO. Two master bedrooms made it nice for two couples. The view from the great room and outsides spaces is spectacular! An afternoon at the pool is beautiful if you don’t feel like driving to one of the incredible beaches. Downtown Cruz Bay is a short ride away for drinks or dinner out. The only negative was the home being built right next door. It was loud some days and construction vehicles made parking a challenge.

40th Birthday Girls Trip

Excellent stay at this Villa! It was better than described and the views were stunning! We had everything we needed for a night in at the villa or to adventure to the beaches. The host went above and beyond upon arrival. Our flight was delayed getting in and it was raining and dark for our arrival and she kept in contact with us and made sure that we knew exactly where we were going. She even provided some snacks and a welcome package for us knowing that we did not have time for grocery run that first evening due to our delay. It was much appreciated after a long day of travel and a stressful drive from the ferry due to the dark and rain and getting familiar with driving on the left. :) All of her suggestions for dining were wonderful! We love visiting St John and look forward to staying in this Villa again in the future. It is perfect for two couples or a girls trip like ours. Also the beds were so comfortable! We are all still talking about how well we rested in them! Beautiful property, excellent stay, and would highly recommend! Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us!

Beaches and AC oh my

The property is conveniently located near the car ferry and Cruz Bay. You definitely need a Jeep. The steep incline from the parking lot was a little precarious at night. Power outages at night were brutal, with still hot air. Do yourself a favor and read up on updates. We didn't think they would be overnight, but they were to no fault of anyone. We hope for the future of the island that it gets remedied quickly. House has all you need, but AC a must during June

House is Lovely. The view .... fabulous. The dip pool was used a lot. Lush landscaping. Great location. Well appointed kitchen. We were there while it was hot, so, understand there is No AC in living/ kitchen area. Bedrooms were the only relief from the heat. Not much of a breeze to help with heat or mosquitoes. Lots of ceiling fans, but not all run at the same speed. Just know its hot.... we were there 7/28-8/6. Island beaches are so beautiful. Small town, friendly locals. I will be back.

We had a wonderful trip! We weren’t aware the hosts live underneath the villa - however, that was a non event. We didn’t see or hear them the entire time so if that is a question mark for you - it shouldn’t be. House was great - clean and well appointed. Kitchen had all the basics. Pool was wonderful but sun cooked! Great umbrella in the pool area for shade. I don’t normally rent villas that aren’t fully AC. This place was awesome but the bedrooms being only AC was tough for us. We knew it coming in but the main area having screens only held a lot of warm air that didn’t move as quickly throughout the days. The bedrooms could get ice cold however, so going in there to cool off and then to sleep were a great reset. All in all a beautiful spot. We love Great Cruz view and it’s such an easy drive from town.

Great Spot

House was very nice, and a great location. When we booked we noticed someone complained that owners lived onsite. I was a little concerned with this just because we like privacy. But I can confirm this is a complete non-issue. Their unit is below the main house. I’m pretty sure there is an entrance on the other side of the house they use that you almost can’t even tell is there. The pool and outdoor space is completely private, they can’t even see it from their unit since it’s below. They aren’t using the pool or anything while you are there. I only took off one star on the communication rating not because they didn’t communicate well but unless I missed something, email was the only way to communicate when on the island. My email didn’t load well so having a cell to text if there was something urgent would have been nice. But it wasn’t actually necessary. So not really a complaint just a suggestion! And I do understand if they don’t want to share their cell. I would recommend the house and go back for sure. There is a house being built next door. Someone mentioned that. While we did hear it a little. It was never really early or late. So unless you are just sitting at the house all day I can’t see it being a big deal. Who wants to sit at a house all day anyways when you are in St John?!

All for the view

My family of 4 stayed here the 1st week of the New Year. The view is spectacular, pool is nice but not heated so really only useable when the sun is out in full. The home is very spacious for a small family and the kitchen, appliances and accessories are adequate. What we weren’t expecting was to have the hosts living there all week in the lower level. Granted their apartment is not a part of the listing, however, it should absolutely be disclosed to the renters that they will be living at the property with you! It really took away from our sense of privacy which is the whole point of a vrbo vs a condo or hotel. The house was clean where it really mattered, baths kitchen etc but base boards, ceiling fans and light fixtures and under furniture were quite dusty and even with some cob webs. unappealing and not acceptable for the price of the rental and cleaning. We did not call anyone back because some of us hardly ever left the villa and did but want the intrusion. I don’t believe other renters were even aware they had company in the lower level because they do stay out of sight as much as possible and out of your way. Probably my biggest complaint was you have to drive your own trash well into town (and instructions were to do that every single day although we found that unnecessary.) we took the kitchen trash a couple of times when it got full, but having to take even a day’s trash with you upon check out is challenging with all the luggage. Hosts should take it!!!!
