Awesome----Would Do It All Over Again

Tropical Treehouse

Tropical Treehouse was just what we were looking for. Remote, quiet and peaceful. Megan was great in responding to any questions right away. Would definitely stay again!

This is a lovely cottage! Spent 17 days here and would do it again.

The property is exactly as it appears in the photos. One must be able to climb the sixty some stairs but once you've done that you will adore this villa!

Our 4th Stay at the Tropical Treehouse

Returning to the Tropical Treehouse always feels like our home away from home. Total privacy & seclusion are the reward for the 68 step trek to and from the cottage. We just love it!

Beautiful place

Amazing views from porch. The stairs are a bit of a workout but well worth it. The house had all the amenities that you would need. There are beach chairs, a cooler and beach umbrella. Will definitely want to come again.

First time to St. John!

This was a special trip for my husband and I! First trip without kids in MANY years and first time to St. John! What an adventure. The Tropical Tree house was perfect and Jake was very helpful and quick to respond.

Wonderful stay!

My husband, young son, and I had a wonderful stay at the Tropical Tree House during our recent trip to St. John! We loved being on the Coral Bay side as it felt more secluded and less touristy than the Cruz Bay area, but still with lot's to do! The Tree House was the perfect size for us and provided a great feel of seclusion with a gorgeous view from the screened in porch. It was also a huge plus to have a washer and dryer as it allowed us to pack lightly! We loved our visit and can't wait to go back!

Charming, quiet and accommodating

This cottage was perfect and Sue was very accommodating! It was a great, comfortable retreat after long days of swimming, snorkeling and hiking. We loved lying in the hammock and enjoying the sounds of the St. John evenings from the screened in porch. The cottage looked exactly like the pictures, including the cleanliness. We will absolutely be back!

Secluded, excellent view

Very private getaway ideal for an adventurous couple who are looking to be off the beaten path. Fantastic view, working kitchen, outdoor grill, screened in wraparound porch, great for DIYers. We had a great time and we felt very refreshed. Must be ok with stairs/ladder

One week stay in more quiet Coral Bay

Overall, great private place with great view. Very airy. Steps to cottage accurately described. Very good considerate host. Internet is good but occasional outages might make working remote an issue.

One of the best trips we have ever taken.

Jake and Sarah were the best hosts we’ve ever had. They checked in with us before, during and after our trip to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. The treehouse is perfect for a couple looking to get away from it all, and the screen porch/hammock has an unbelievable view of Coral Bay. This was our first trip to St. John, and Jake and Sarah helped make it one of the best trips we’ve ever had.

Perfect!

Tropical Tree house could not be nicer and a great value. It is immaculate and looks better than its picture. The porch is much larger than it looks. It is ideal for a couple and close to restaurants on Coral Bay, my favorite side of St. John. The owners are very helpful. Would definitely return.

Amazing!

This Treehouse was the perfect place to spend our vacation in Coral Bay! It was cozy, clean, airy, spacious, inspiring, and had all the comforts of home. I can't say enough about it, and we hope to be back again soon! Our hosts were kind and informative, and the property seemed brand new. The stairs might be a little challenging for some guests, but we liked the exercise, and privacy it gave us during our stay. We miss it already!

Great stay at Tropical Treehouse

We so enjoyed our stay at Jake and Sarah's property in beautiful Coral Bay. The unique property was immaculate and very accurately written up. The 68 steps kept us in shape, The views were beautiful. Most of all Jake's responsiveness was so appreciated, it was reassuring knowing that he was available at anytime . We hope to return someday and would not hesitate to make this our vacation home again. Thank you!!!!

Home sweet island home!

We LOVED this place! It was so beautiful and comfortable. All you could ever need. We couldn't get enough of the outside porch, spent most of our time there when we were at the house. The breeze is great. The views are amazing!!! Waking up to that everyday is really something special. Jake and Sarah are great hosts. Thank you for sharing your beautiful island home with us! =) We would definitely stay here again!

Comfortable & Cozy in a Great Location!

This house was a great way to spend our Christmas! The place was super clean and roomier than expected. The listing is accurate, you can expect what see, which is not always the case. Our daughter loved reading on the screened in porch in the hammock listening to the birds. The house gets plenty of breeze and the kitchen is welled equipped. We loved the Coral Bay area and the topography around it. The owner was great at communicating and answering any questions about the property. Two thumbs up!!

Perfect view!

This rental was pictured as described (minus the blender). Hills in St John are steep and it was a little scary getting in and out of the parking... But you get used to it. Great location relative to some restaurants and grocery stores in Coral Bay. We preferred Coral bay to Cruz Bay since it was a lot more quiet. Plenty of space for 2 people. Great view. Enjoyed looking out at Coral Bay during our breakfast.

Tropical Treehouse Treat

Treat yourself to a wonderful stay in this jewel box of a house. Everything you need for a great stay. Up and out of the way, a true island experience but right down the hill to all the fun that Coral Bay has to offer. Beautiful views. Laundry such a plus! pack light for less to carry up the many stairs (which are easy esp when you stop to drink in the view;). Easy drive to all beaches. We braved the ride to Lameshur - wow! so worth it. Quick to Maho. Thank you Jake and Sarah!

What a wonderful week! Thank you!

We loved our week on St. John in the Tropical Tree House. Thank you Susan and Bob - your home is beautiful. Perfect size, gorgeous setting, simple and lovely interior, everything we hoped for and could have wanted for the week. Though the stairway to "our" home for the week would not be for everyone, we truly appreciated the privacy of the home, the wonderful screen porch, and having everything we needed. We enjoyed leisurely mornings over coffee on the porch, before heading off for days of hiking and snorkeling, and then returning to the home, which felt like a haven. The location, close to Coral Bay and so many wonderful beaches, trails, and restaurants, was also perfect for us. Thank you!

Pros: Really pretty, everything in order, great view. Cons: hard to find cabs that will drive to this location. Had to rely on one dude. Had to throw away your own trash. The couch is not comfortable to sleep on. Worth it though.

great stay

A great place to stay for couples. We spent 5 nights in January and February 2017 and had a wonderful stay. Clean, affordable with everything you need . Only had to use the AC for a couple hours each night. The washer and dryer were a definite plus. Susan and Bob the owners are very accommodating and we had our security deposit back within one week which was outstanding giving the snail mail of St. John. Convenient to all that the south side of St. John has to offer including great beaches at Haulover Bay (including the swim up pontoon boat bar) Salt Pond Bay and Lamshur Bays and good eats at Skinny Legs, Pickles in Paradise, Concordia Cafe and the Indigo Grill. The 69 steps to the house could be a challenge for some, but if you take your time going up and down it is not a problem. Can't wait for our next trip to our favorite island in the Caribbean.

Excellent Place

The Tropical Treehouse was a fantastic place to stay for our trip to St. John. The view was stunning and the house was quite comfortable. The best feature of the house is the huge screened-in porch. It was relaxing to wake up every morning and sit down with a cup of coffee and great book and have a view of Coral Bay. The house has a full kitchen with everything you would need to cook your meals. The grill was great as well! The location is fantastic for anybody looking for a quiet, relaxing and private place to stay. There is a market and quite a few restaurants down the road which is convenient. The house was absolutely immaculate and has toiletries if needed along with beach towels, chairs and a cooler for your use. The proximity to everything is fantastic and again, convenient. Again, if you're looking for a quite, peaceful, convenient and relaxing place to stay, this is the place to go! Sue and Bob were fantastic to communicate with before, during and after the trip. We highly recommend this property!

Tropical Tree House is a wonderful and magical place to stay!

My husband and I stayed at the Tropical Tree House during early Feb. 2017. Being every bit as magical as and more so than the pictures showed, the property was just as described and advertised. We loved the "tree house" feeling that comes with being surrounded by tree tops and a supply of singing birds all around. It felt very secluded even though we were just minutes from restaurants and beaches. We enjoyed the snorkeling at Salt Pond and Haulover beach; both of which were conveniently located on this side of the island. Additionally, we feasted on delicious food, which included Sunday Jazz brunch at Miss Lucy's, as well as juicy burgers at Skinny Legs. The only things future visitors should know and/or understand are that the roads are curvy and steep; a Jeep or other SUV would be the preferred rental for navigating these types of roads. Also, the Tree House property itself does have quite a few steps to maneuver; so make sure to bring your walking shoes. The Tropical Tree House is definitely a place I would recommend to others and can't wait to come back next year!

A Magical Family Vacation

Our family of three (two adults, one 10 year old) loved this place! The proximity to numerous beaches, grocery stores, and hiking trails made this ideal for us. Our daughter loved spending the night in the hammock on the screened in porch, the AC was great to have as an option, and the full kitchen and washer/dryer allowed us to be self-sufficient. The stairs getting down to the house are something to consider if you have physical limitations, and you will need a vehicle that can handle steep (and I mean STEEP) grades. We didn't have 4WD, but we had a sturdy SUV. If you can handle those two factors, and you don't mind being a 20 minute drive from the bustle of Cruz Bay, we can't recommend this place enough. The hosts were super considerate about staying in touch with us, and, when our phones didn't work when we got to the island (damn Verizon!) and we had to sporadically communicate through phones borrowed from strangers, they were great about making sure we ended up where we needed to be.
