"This property desperately needs a refurbishment! Paintwork is awful. Surface cleaning is ok but it needs a deep clean. Such a small shower. Its just an attachment shower and very difficult to use effectively. The carpet had cigarette burns on it which shows how old it is. Avoid!!"

"The Cavendish was extremely dirty and in poor condition. We paid for what was shown on the website as a lovely (standard double) we were given a room down many filthy dirty stairs to a dirty room on its own past dirty broken unused dumped tables opposite a staff doorway (room number 64) this room SHOULD NOT be in use. It was like being taken down to the basement dungeon.The window glass was broken..it was dirty, the curtains didn't fit the window and was freezing cold. I spoke to staff who did move us upto level 3 to another room.I would not recommend this hotel for your stay in Eastbourne"

"Super stay. Bright, clean room Superior Classic. Had tasty sandwich lunch outside in sunshine. The hotel is wonderfully situated, set back from the road and coastline. Beachy Head walks very close by and superb promenade walks right out front by the sea. Great for Congress Theatre. Splendid historic building, facilities and friendly staff. Parking on site. Fabulous varied breakfast....cereals, fruits, smoked salmon/meats/cheeses and served hot breakfasts. Love it there. Thanks"
