"Friendly staff..lovely room"

"Staff were very efficient and helpful. Check in process very quick and although we arrived very early there were no issues. The room was clean and tidy , but due to its age floors and stairs could be a bit creaky. However what would you expect from the oldest pub in Stafford. Good value and would book again."

"Got an excellent price a week before the stay. Very comfy bed and a nice bar/breakfast area. We arrived an hour before check in time and staff were very helpful and let us check in immediately which is always appreciated."

"The bathroom was very dated. It looked like a nursing home. The flooring was extremely old. The bed was too low. Only one bath towel for 2 people. It was definitely not up to standard for a Hub. The staff was friendly and made you feel welcomed. But this hotel needs serious renovations. "

"This is a great property, spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Also in beautiful surroundings….so why not 5 stars? I was here for three nights so the “cons” outweighed the “pros” for me. Firstly, it was (and still is) advertised as having FREE WIFI. This is important to me as I was here for work and need internet access when I’m working away. Reality - there is no internet! I did find an EE mobile wifi router in one of the kitchen drawers, but once I switched it on and connected to it,...

Cleanliness was second to none, so if that's what concerns you when travelling, then Eagle house is for you its spotless. Andy and Helen are great hosts and very welcoming. The town is just a short walk with some lovely pubs and restaurants to choose from. Overall a fabulous stay."
