Quaint cosy cottage in a stunning location

The cottage is on a good location for seeing Winchester, Stockbridge amd the Army Flying Museum. It could benefit from some redecoration in places but overall it is well equipped and comfortable. It is dog friendly with an enclosed safe garden. The pub in the village is lovely, friendly, pool table and an evening menu.

Lovely cottage, well placed for the Test

Our second visit and as last year, we found the cottage comfortable and well located. Steeped in character, an ideal base for our fishing trip. The White Hart pub, a two minute stroll away, is excellent for well priced food and beer. Many thanks.

A lovely cosy stay

This property is lovely, well equipped and has lots of character. We enjoyed time as a family by the fire or around the farm-house style kitchen table. The only areas for improvement would be for the bathroom to be a bit cleaner. Also, the larger of the 2 single beds was on a slight slope (the other one was very narrow), so this room would be better suited to young children. Overall, a great stay and good base to explore the lovely area.

Nice old cottage

Was here during the hottest few days of the year. Nice cottage in a good location (my partner was there for work, I was on holiday). Old properties can be a bit dusty but this could be cleaner (for example, I had to wash the shower curtain myself as it had a lot of orange deposits). Otherwise a good stay.

Just magical!

Couldn’t have loved this place more! Gorgeous cottage in wonderful location. Facilities are modern and clean and sympathetic to the historic fabric of the building. The stream at the foot of the garden was the bicing on the cake. Lovely walking in the area. Friendly village at the doorstep. Thank you for the privilege of staying at your wonderful property.

Nice property

Very cool in heat. Lovely and clean and comfortable. Great internet. Multiple living areas downstairs. V easy parking. Only one bathroom for 2xdouble and 1xtwin seems a little low. Very noisy stairs. Didn't realise 'no towels' meant no tea-towels!

Charming and historic home

The home was comfortable and the kitchen stove was awesome to cook with. There is only one bathroom and several low ceilings. The pub across the street was fun, and there are markets nearby. There was a French press and a coffeemaker, too. The kids loved playing in the yard! And, hearing the Wed evening church bell practice was fabulous. Stonehenge is a 20 min drive and the airport was only an hour and a half. Great final stop on our trip across southern England.

Quiet Charming Cottage

The property was better than expected, really nice kitchen layout with Aga and dining area, cosy lounge and 3 bedrooms. Just mind your head! This property has loads of history, grade II listed and loads of character. Pleasant wrap around garden with parking and extra storage for bikes and things. Nearby there is the White Hart pub and a well looked after recreation ground. Everything else you will need car. We used Over Wallop as a base, visited Stonehenge, Stockbridge (every day for the excellent Co-Op store), Salisbury, beaches at Bournemouth, Poole and Highcliffe. Thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful old thatch in a great location for days out in & around Hampshire

Beautiful traditional thatched cottage with lots of original features, situated in a great location for getting out & about discovering the many visitor attractions in the surrounding areas. Well equipped cottage with plenty of storage space. Fantastic totally secure garden for the dogs which is a great peace of mind being able to leave the door open for them to come & go, knowing that they can't get out. only 1 slight negative,(more for the owner if they're paying for someone to clean the property) even allowing for dust & cobwebs which automatically accompany old beamed properties, the place could do with a good deep clean. However, this did not stop us having an excellent week in Over Wallop.

Escape to the country fantasy!

What an incredible week we had at Brockhurst Cottage number 3. Cooking on the Aga, watching the snow falling outside, wine in front of the fire and walks in the country was just what we needed for some R & R. The cottage is well appointed with everything a family needs and has all the quirks of a quintessential English cottage. Stairs may be a bit tricky for the younger and older guests and if you're into modern then maybe not the place for you! We loved it. Clean towels and bedding, Laundry, TV, Wifi, bathtub, key essentials for our family of five (3 teens). Day trips to Glastonbury, Stonehenge, Winchester, Salisbury. Plenty to do or perhaps just relax and do nothing at all.

Cottage Life in beautiful surroundings

We were greeted by our host who had kindly allowed us to deposit our luggage ahead of moving into the cottage. The cottage itself is cosy and well appointed with an Aga stove in the kitchen that keeps the cottage warm. It has a small but well kept garden with table and chairs for outside dining if desired. Also parking for two cars. We took some wonderful trips in the area where many of the villages have thatched cottages. There is a post office and village shop close by and local pubs within walking distance . A wonderful experience and great host!!!

Location!

The house is as listed. We enjoyed the location for fishing, exploring Winchester, and making it into London to catch a match. The efficient kitchen had everything we needed. The only thing I would recommend for those thinking of staying is to put the tall members of your group in the front bedroom as there is a low overhang to the back bedrooms. Be sure to have a meal at George Inn. It was delicious!

Ideal

Lovely location and cottage. Very comfy beds! Would just recommend a little cleaner, storage in the middle room and although towels were not supplied a hand towel in the bathroom would of been appreciated. Despite this the cottage was beautiful and we had such a fabulous weekend.
