Spacious Cabin on Cedar Creek - Make memories at Shenandoah's best hidden getaway! Cabin is on 30 acres of creek front property. Enjoy the quiet tranquility of the forest, take out the kayaks, do a little fishing, or visit our egg laying chickens.

Ideas for your Cabin Experience...

Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea before breakfast, taking in stunning views overlooking Cedar Creek from this two-level cabin, deep in the Virginia countryside.

Cool off in the creek at the local "Swimmin' hole", which ranges from 2 to 4 feet deep, or cast your line in the hopes of catching a brook trout, or other native fish. Bring your PFD, fishing rod, and water shoes. Two Kayaks are available to paddle about - or you can coordinate with your hosts for a 2+ hour kayaking trip on the creek. Extended trips may be dependent on rainfall. Additional charge will apply.

Relax in one of two hammocks in the front yard or lounge down by the Creek. Spend the cool mountain evenings roasting marshmallows by our natural rock fire pit - firewood is provided for guests. Watch fireflies dance among the trees, while you sip a glass of local wine from our two-tiered deck.

Virginia wildlife abounds - walk the trails along the creek, woodlands, and meadows of the Cabin's 30 acres. Sit quietly and you may just see a doe and her fawn, wild turkeys, or a fox or mink. Don't sit quietly and you might see a squirrel. ;) Enjoy wild edibles when in season: Wineberries, Hickory Nuts, Walnuts, and Pawpaws. Yum!

We also have chickens on the property. We don't have a rooster, so you won't be woken by "cockel-doodle-do" in the morning. You can sleep in.

We are a newly retired couple living in another house on the same property about .3 miles away. We will absolutely give you space to use the cabin as your own, but we are available if an issue arises. You may see us around the property gardening or tending to our chickens.

Cabin on Cedar Creek

The cabin felt remote like we desired but was also convenient to small communities for restaurants and such. The property was beautiful, and the hosts were especially great.

The hosts were wonderful. Met me at the cabin when I arrived. Scenery was beautiful and I was able to relax and enjoy the beautiful area. I would recommend staying here.

Peaceful and serene

Incredible location. Beautifully designed and decorated cabin. Hosts thought of so many nice extras to make your stay wonderful. Mary and Rich were warm and welcoming . Definitely deserves a 10 star rating.

Lovely, lovely, lovely!

This property exceeded our expectations in every way, beginning with a very warm welcome from Rich and Mary! We were in the area to take in a show at Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre, and we loved that this rustic but glamorous property was within 20-some minutes of the university and Old Town Winchester. Our adult children were thrilled with the nature that abounds at this cabin, the bubbling creek right out back, and the beautiful fire circle. I added three birds to my life list and loved hearing the Barred owls at night. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Remote Cozy Cabin

I love this little cabin. It's a quiet getaway with a beautiful view. Super clean with all the basics - and fresh eggs in the fridge from the chickens. Rich and Mary are incredibly welcoming and flexible.

Perfect escape

The cabin was very well kept and had great amenities on the land! We enjoyed every bit of reconnecting with nature, trying canoeing and making great homemade meals. The beds were so comfy and the all around atmosphere made it a perfect place to escape the busy life and reconnect! Rich and Mary are great hosts!!

Beautiful and peaceful!

This is a beautiful cabin with gorgeous natural light. The creek is very peaceful, and the location is definitely private (which is exactly what we wanted). Rich is a wonderful host and was very accommodating for our late arrival. Highly recommend!

Family Staycation

Wow! My husband and I wanted a few days away with our boys before Mother’s Day and Rich and Mary’s place was a dream! The love and attention to detail that they have put into their rental is incredible. Rich met us upon arrival and was extremely kind and welcoming. The space was cozy and inviting. Our family enjoyed fishing and unplugging for some quality time together. It was very clean and stocked with most things you could possibly need. We can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful Property

Fantastic Cabin!

We loved our stay in this cabin. The owners have thought of everything to make it feel so comfortable and welcoming. The location on the creek is stunning! It is very convenient to the Shenandoah mountains and to Strasburg, Winchester with lots to do. Or, it's so comfortable, you can easily just hang out and enjoy! I highly recommend!

Excellent location and cabin

We had a great time at this location. The cabin had everything we needed, including privacy. We took local walks around the area every evening, fished in the river and hiked in the area. The hosts were phenomenal and responded to any questions we had immediately. We hope to visit again!!

Cabin on the river

The cabin is quaint, comfortable and homey with beautiful views of the river and woods. Be ready for a bumpy ride on the gravel road leading to the cabin.

Great property and house has everything you need. The creek is perfect to relax by and enjoy, especially for kids. The owners were very accommodating and the whole process was organized and simple. We hope to be back!

Beautiful cabin

We love staying at the cabin. It was beautiful and relaxing. Loved waking up to natural light with the windows. Enjoyed the chickens. Wish the stream was deeper for kayaking but the weather is no fault to the owners.

Perfect Getaway!

We wanted a place to stay that had all the amenities and was super comfortable, but that was also close to all the great hiking in the area. This place was perfect! We hiked every day, and came home to a cozy home after. When we weren't out and about, the creek was a nice place to relax and cool off! Rich and Mary were great, and very communicative, making for a great trip.

Serene Getaway

Cabin was cozy and spotless with great views of the creek. So quiet and relaxing. Fishing was perfect our little guy caught some small mouth bass and blue gills. Kids enjoyed playing in the creek, fire pit / smores and stargazing. Hosts was so nice and attentive. Was a wonderful getaway with our family of 4. Thank you, Rich and Mary.
