A beautiful historic hotel with a lovely breakfast room overlooking the lake. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were exceptional. Highly recommend this hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Stresa. The hotel had a good central location, a fabulous view of the lake, was pleasant and all the staff were really helpful. The breakfast with also tasty with a range of gluten and dairy free options.

Excellent hotel

Hotel was very clean and staff very friendly Breakfast was 1st class we had a balcony over looking the lake and was lovely in the evening to be able to sit and look over the lake would highly recommend to everyone we also had use of a swimming pool at the nect Hotel which was only 150m away

Visited the 2nd week of September. The hotel is ideally located to visit the other islands and walking distance to shops and restaurants. Our room was very accommodating for 3 adults and it faced the lake with a beautiful view. The breakfast was very good and the hosts were very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

It’s the best location if you are visiting Stresa for the first time. The ferry can take you anywhere and just across the street. Can board the airport bus right outside the hotel. Great restaurant on site. Excellent service and great breakfast. We went to the pool one time and is very relaxing.

Great Place to Stay

This is a fantastic place to stay on Lago Maggiore. Right in the heart of town. AND you get access to parking and the pool at the Regina Palace. A big bonus. I definitely would return!

A good choice

The Hotel Milan Speranza Au Lac is a 4 star hotel located by the lake boulevard. The hotel is a reliable choice in the slightly lower end of 4 star hotels. We had a nice two night stay at the hotel. The room and the bathroom were as expected but we were slightly disappointed as there was no balcony and the view was to the building on the opposite side of the street. The breakfast was of good standard and contained everything you can expect. Also the service at breakfast was of unusually high standard. We also had one dinner at the hotel and were pleased with both the food and especially the service, which was excellent. We would happily stay there again.

Hotel spotless. Beautiful seating area to have breakfast. Room small, but clean. Bed ok. Great, helpful staff. Front of house ( restaurant) very efficient. Affordable. Use of neighbouring hotel pool was a nice bonus. Best place to stay in Stresa.

The hotel was located perfect next to the ferry boats, so the location was execellent. The room had a good size, the bathroom also. The bed need a mattress topper, because sleeping on it for 3-4 nights is a bit rough. The breakfast was good, had everything you want in a breakfast. Plus for brown bread. The personal was polite. I wish there was a fridge in the room. I would stay here again.

We had a lovely stay; wound up extending an extra night.Our triple room was on the small side for the 2 of us, as we had anticipated from the photos. That was compensated by the many positives: Excellent service from the staff. Spectacular view from our room, appreciated the blackout shades. Superb friendly attentive service during the extensive breakfast buffet - delicious breads, pastries, healthy cereals and yogurt, enjoyed having cappuccinos every day. Very convenient location to promenade walk, the ferry, charming town centre and restaurants. We did not mind the short walk to where our car was parked; and appreciated that the parking was included.

The corner room was very good, newer door to the balcony and window were quite effective in quieting the street and restaurant noise from below. The breakfast was good for European standards, excellent for US standards. Only ‘negatives’ were- parking is at the Regina Palace, a few mins walk, and limited parking during events like weddings. The room key was on a heavy weight, not the newer electronic keys being used, but we just left it with the front desk when we went out for the day. Would be nice to have hot tea and coffee in the lobby at night.
