"The room was immaculate. I stayed in the tower, looking over the pool and have an ocean view which was definitely worth the upgraded price. The staff is so incredibly kind and genuine. I was overly impressed when I come back. I’m only staying here from now on."

"Tough timing to arrive right after the bad storm. This area was hit hard and we can imagine the work it took to get all back together. Staff shortage affected housekeeping but the front desk was helpful and cheerful in providing fresh towels and other needed items. No internet service but we were compensated fairly. Good A/C in our room and comfortable bed. We appreciated the complimentary use of beach chairs, umbrella and cooler. Easy to drive out of the rain on Maui!! Would enjoy visiting again when Kohea Kai is bright and shiny!"

"This hotel is a great new resort to enjoy on the beautiful island of Maui. The rooms are quiet and the beds are comfortable. The pool is very relaxing and the bartenders are great! The Beach Club across the street is a great place to eat after a full day in the sun."

"The bad (and most important): Guests need to be warned about the insane woman who lives in this building. There should be a disclaimer on all booking sites and the resorts website . It is INSANE what goes on here . When I read reviews about her, I thought maybe she was just having a bad day or week. I was wrong. This goes on all day every day and has been happening for years. She screams at and harasses guest over a loud speaker , insults people , records everyone , particularly children. Plays piano , blows a whistle , conch sings , mocks guests , all over the speaker from 7am-10pm. she has a huge dog that barks all day and she walks around to intimidate people at the pool. Look at her you tube channel Aloha See Maui before considering staying here . While the hotel management hands are somewhat tied , they need to do more . It’s been going on for years, this isn’t new. When she’s not making noise and harassing people, which wasn’t often , it’s all the guests talk about . The negativity and noise consumed our vacation. There was no peace , no way to sleep in or relax , or chill at the pool , when we paid big money to visit here . Our sofa bed was broken , which my son slept on all week , and the bedroom mattress was like sleeping on springs . The good : the view is spectacular, location is great , pool , hot tub and BBQ area was awesome . I would come back but only if this crazy lady was gone . "

"We had the best experience staying at Tammi and Mika‘s place. They are the most warm and welcoming hosts! All amenities are there as described plus more. Great location 15 minutes by car from the airport in a green lush area with amazing views! I highly recommend the place. You’re not going to be disappointed! We just left and we miss Mika and Tammi already!"

"Our party of 9 adults and 4 kids had an amazing time staying at this beautiful home! The house is gorgeous, spacious, and clean. The beds are incredibly comfortable as is all the rest of the furniture. The pool was great and well-used and the hot tub was easy to heat to our preference and very roomy. Kurt was welcoming and also responded quickly to the requests we had. We were so happy with every component of our stay and would highly recommend this to any family or group who want to spend quality time together but also enjoy some space."

"Staying at this ocean cottage was wonderful. The cottage owners are warm and caring and take pride in creating a comfortable, thoughtful, and memorable experience. The cottage itself is beautifully maintained—cozy, clean, and perfectly situated just steps from the beach. Waking up in the morning and going to sleep at night to the sound of the ocean waves was restorative. What truly set this place apart were the little extras that made beach days effortless and enjoyable. The provided beach chairs, lush beach towels and beach umbrella were all in excellent condition and made lounging by the water incredibly relaxing. This is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience filled with care, hospitality, and thoughtful amenities. We can’t wait to return! "

"The views are unmatched and the property is unique and gorgeous. It was very peaceful and quiet with the only sounds to be heard being all the birds. The hot tub was large and great temp and the sauna was very nice. The pool was cold. The hosts were great providing information about the area and very responsive to communication. Note in the description that the pool, hot tub and sauna are shared with a few other guests at the property so you have to book times on a shared calendar. It was not an issue for us while we were there. We were very happy with our stay, my parents and kid were in awe of the experience and it was a great change from the experience of west Maui."
