Sweeny Holidays

The front desk agent upon arrival was pleasant and helpful, very delightful demeanor. However, the room upon check in seemed to be ok, upon turning on light I witnessed 2 roaches dash across the table where tv stands. I immediately contacted front desk and room was changed. The 2nd room water in tub never stopped running and room had a mildew moisture type of smell. It was too late to change hotels and I could not afford to book another room on such short notice. So, I sucked it up and suffered Happy with front desk, hotel and housekeeping was poor and executed without detail.

Breakfast was generic. Nothing special. You can find the same breakfast at any Holiday Inn. Stay not worth the high price.

I still can't get over how affordable this was--mind you, it was a last-minute one night stay. All the same, I only paid under $300 for a "junior suite" (ENORMOUS room!), with photo-snapping views of the Houston skyline. Right in the heart of a slew of fabulous restaurants and cafes, and the hotel's own bar and restaurant is worth staying in for (high quality of food, good variety, and nicely decorated interiors). I don't know Houston very well, beyond the fact that it is HUGE, but I think I would want to stay here whenever I visit in terms of 4.5-star luxury for 3-star prices. Staff are very friendly and welcoming; you feel like a treasured guest who stays often. Room was quiet, no noise from outside. Full pay bar in room with nice selection (but I didn't have anything).
