"I took a chance on choosing this lodging and to my dismay I was surprised. I would absolutely recommend this place to stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was clean, breakfast was top notch and lots of space to enjoy privacy with a meal and drinks under the canopy of trees and calmness. If you’re looking for relaxation you will find it here. "Great getaway. Property is beautiful and peaceful. Lightning in the cabin is somewhat dim and the beds aren’t that comfortable, but look, it’s a cabin and not a 5 star hotel. Our kids loved it and it was just what we expected and hoped it would be. Hermann itself wasn’t that impressive. We prepared most of our meals and it is always a fun experience cooking on the open campfire, as well as s’mores. We’ll likely stay again. If you’re looking to unplug and get out of the city, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. The fall and spring are optimal times. If you fish, bring a few spinners and lures for bass and catfish. All catch and release unless you’re a bluegill keeper lol. Kids loved the fishing and exploring the area. Someone recommended Ruthie’s in Rosebud, MO, which is about 20 min away….i wasn’t impressed, but it could be a fun outing if you enjoy seriously mediocre diner food. Personally, I enjoy staying at the cabin and enjoying the peacefulness. We did hit up Swiss Meats and picked items to cook on the fire, which I highly recommend. "
