Located near the Harbour was excellent but the facilities of the hotel was only decent. It felt over priced for the facilities available. Torn bedsheets, bare empty rooms and corridors definitely needing an upgrade, it feels quite run down. However, the staff were excellent.

Spartan but great location. If you are the bougie type, not the hotel for you. Walking distance to fun stuff. Hotel is clean and old fashioned, pleasant.

the property is quite old, the bathroom and interior are outdated and battered, but clean. the windows can't be opened (at least in our room, there is only AC) and the whirlpool on the roof is not working. I have still no answer on an email inquiry because of something I forgot at the hotel. Not the customer service I expected for this price.

The location of the hotel to Circular Quay, The Opera House & The Bridge can’t be beat. The hotel is in need of an upgrade, especially the bathrooms and AC system. You can’t run the AC if you want to sleep. While it’s a very old building, the noise is awful. Our room backed onto the side alley where the dumpsters were emptied at 4am every day! The sound of smashing glass isn’t how you want to wake up on holiday. When we mentioned this to the front desk, they thanked us for telling them. The laundry facilities are great and much appreciated on a long trip. $4 for a wash and $4 for the dryer. Detergent is provided. Overall a great location, but the hotel use a little TLC.

Honestly the only thing that makes this property shine is the location. Super handy. On the downside the property condition, expecially the bathroom, was atrocious. I was so disappointed at the facilities considering we paid a LOT of money. Only one lift was working which meant significant delays getting in and out of the building. The secondary windows put over the originals are not double glazed so you can hear everything in the street. Not so bad on a week night, but on a weekend, you will be lucky to get to sleep. I couldn't believe how awful the place was, I will never recommend sorry. Sort the bathrooms out maybe I would go back but take earplugs and get a room on a lower floor if the lifts aren't returned to service.

The place was located on the Rocks near the Sydney Harbour Bridge and within viewing distance of the Sydney Opera House as advertised. It is a bit of a scenic walk to the nearest Tram, Bus, Train line so maybe a bit difficult for elderly, but for couples and young travelers like us, it is no problem. There are Pubs in the area and eating choices as well. The hotel was good and clean, only one elevator was working though, so this was a problem in the mornings and during checkout. Aside from this, the hotel was great :)

Beautiful period property with so many authentic features. Location was perfect - until huge cruise ships arrived in the harbour and totally blotted out any view. Dining was limited and when we had breakfast, it was super pricey ($35 full breakfast or $27 for continental) and not so fresh. Pastry’s were stale although fruit options were fabulous. Having just come from a Rydges in Cairns to Sydney, it was rather disappointing.

Rooftop deck was awesome. We got some great photos of the Oprah House (when there was not a cruise ship in port). If you are taking a cruise....this is the hotel for you. 5 minute walk to the baggage drop-off. Breakfast was average at best...pricey for the quality.

This was a beautiful place to stay and their breakfast was delicious I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone staying a few nights before catching the cruise ship walking distance everything was amazing. From California Girl!!!

Had issues with a few plugs that didn’t work, and the bathtub was very slippery and not safe for seniors! Need a bath mat! Or more safety bars! Beds were very comfortable, loved the location, except for the cruise ships blocking our view of the Opera House! Front desk clerk upon our arrival was very nice and especially helpful!

Sydney Harbor Hotel is in a historic building right next to the cruise port. The location is fantastic and quite walkable. Service at the hotel was mediocre, with a chaotic checkin involving dozens of suitcases stacked everywhere and long lines with only one staff member on desk. We were not offered the promissd upgrade for VIP status and we had to push to get our $25 food credit applied. No one ever answered the front desk phone or housekeeping phone on multiple attempts at different times of day. We asked for replacement pillows and comforter due to a down feather allergy and they just brought us more down pillows and no new comforter. Staffing and customer service are sorely lacking here. I only recommend staying if you need the convenience of the location and are only here a night.

Although an older property, it was very clean and comfortable. It is in the heart of the city, within walking distance to many attractions and shopping as well as to all forms of public transportation. Very tasty breakfast buffet with standard offerings and variety. Friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return someday.

Great location. Do NOT let the picture of the pool help influence your choice if you have a disability, walking or climbing weaknesses, including other handicaps. No elevator or lift to pool. There 30 stairs!

Location-location-location!!! Right in the heart of the Rocks! It was a couple of blocks from the train station, a 1/2 block from the cruise port, a couple of blocks from the ferries and the hop-on hop-off bus station, and close to the Sydney Opera House. Plenty of restaurants and shops in the area. Ideal for everything we wanted in Sydney! I'd do it all over again!!!
