Atheneum Suite Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel and the rooms were impeccably clean. We could actually smell cleaner in the elevators and when we walked intgo our suite The hotel is absolutely beautiful. And the staff was wonderful. This was an all around great experience. I would encourage people visit this hotel. It is absolutely worth it!"

Detroit Foundation Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Our stay at the Detroit Foundation Hotel was spectacular! The front desk check-in and check-out staff were incredibly welcoming and efficient. Our room was exceptionally spacious and completely whisper-quiet. The amenities truly set it apart—we loved seeing room service options straight to the room, the fully stocked fridge with drinks and candies, and the lovely soaps and lotions. Dining at The Apparatus Room was fantastic. We both had what our bartender recommended and were incredible! As a major bonus, we saw the band playing in town having dinner there, and they even stayed on our floor! The service here goes above and beyond. When the lobby coffee ran out before checkout, the bar staff quickly brewed us a delicious cup to take up while we finished packing. We will absolutely be recommending this hotel to all of our friends and family!"

The Detroit Club

8/10 Good

"Great hotel. The hotel itself was beautiful, fancy, and very clean. The front desk staff were friendly upon arrival, and the staff even opened and closed the doors for guests entering and leaving, which was a nice touch. However, the only issue we experienced was during Youmacon, a costume convention that happened to fall on Halloween this year. I wouldn't recommend staying here during the convention based on our experience. The hotel staff were aware of the convention, and we even asked beforehand if it would be okay to change into our costumes in our room and head straight to the event. We were told that was perfectly fine. Unfortunately, once we left our room, we noticed cleaning staff laughing at us and turning the corner to avoid eye contact. When we reached the front entrance, someone at the desk and another guest were also pointing and laughing at us. I understand that seeing people dressed in costumes might be unusual, but considering it was Halloween and a known convention was taking place nearby, I expected a little more professionalism. Our costumes weren't anything particularly outrageous either, just fairly standard outfits for the convention. Overall, the hotel itself was lovely, but being openly laughed at made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. It's disappointing because everything else about our stay was great. I just wish the staff had been a little more respectful toward guests attending the convention."
