"Property is very rundown, mouldy bathroom, broken furnitures, stained carpet, dirty bed. It ks in serious need of revamp"

"I hope my review will be helpful to other guests who are considering this hotel. It's a beautiful old building. We enjoyed our stay. There are no elevators and the rooms are upstairs so travel light, if possible. There was a staff member who helped with our bags so that was very helpful for my elderly parents. On the first night, there were not many guests so it was lovely and quiet. On the second night, it was the weekend so there were many more guests and it became very noisy. You can hear people talking loudly outside in the common spaces, kids stomping around on the floor above, crying and squealing in the middle of the night and early in the morning. The walls are thin and the floor creaks so it's hard to have a good rest. Bring ear plugs. A fitness centre was advertised in the hotel description but when we enquired, there wasn't one. The staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was simple but good. The wifi was good enough for Zoom. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioner kept the room very cool. The location is excellent for exploring Jonkers Street and the shops and restaurants along the river. Overall, it's a great hotel if you are looking for something with character, old world charm, and good service in a central location."
