"The proprietors are beyond fantastic!! They offer a set meal dinner every night (menu changes) and it’s fantastic!!! Breakfast and coffee are wonderful too. Coin operated washer dryer was great! They helped us get our add on tickets to our Swiss rail pass to get to the must see mountain tops was extremely helpful! I’m telling you this place is great! No AC but they did give me a fan for the room that worked out perfectly."

"Absolutely gorgeous historic hotel. Wonderful old funicular takes you up from the boat. Waterfall was absolutely gorgeous. Lots of trails through the property. Food in the restaurant was fantastic. Absolutely wonderful place. But it is a little isolated so make sure you plan accordingly."

"The address needs a number, it's so vague we had to find it with help from the photo on expedia and a local resident. The place has great location with lake view, good parking, is very spacious and comfortable but we had an issue of the floor covered with a black film. "INCREDIBLE spot in Brienz - this far exceeded our expectations! Host was communicative, responsive and quick to assist. The outdoor living space (which isn't pictured) is actually a quite nice little patio where you do in fact have a small view of Lake Brienz. We loved sitting out at night and watching the sun set over the water. Washer/dryer combo was amazing, and yes, the power goes off to them for noise regulation after 8PM, but as long as you start your cycle before 8PM, it will complete it. I was worried that it would cut off, but it completed it, which is helpful when you've been out all day hiking. Coop is a 2-minute walk, and train station 3-4 minutes. There is no AC but host provided us with fan upon request, so it was comfortable. This place is perfect for a family of 4. I would stay here again in a heartbeat."

"This hotel was very nice. The room was adequate for the two nights that we spent there. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. The only negative thing was that the rooms were not air conditioned and it was very hot there. The doors/windows needed to stay open to let in some air and the road that the hotel is on is pretty busy. So if you are a light sleeper, the noise from the road might bother you. The beds also were very firm which we also are not used to. The hotel is in a great location and the staff was very friendly"

"The hosts were great! Very friendly and helpful.The property is really nice. It was more space than I was picturing with the listing and it was very comfortable. There are three separate spaces for people to be/hang out outside of the rooms, which worked really well for our family of 9. Parking was easy, and finding the place was also easy. There is a supermarket really close by that is open every day of the week including Sundays.I'll also add that it is a great location that won't get much attention in guidebooks and instagram, but it is incredibly beautiful and our kids loved going on the nearby toboggan sled and they also loved the scooters down from the (free) ski lift. We also did the other ski lift to the top of the nearby mountain and the views of Interlaken and Brienz and beyond were incredible. The costs for these lifts was free since we get a tourist card by staying here. Also, our kids loved playing in the stream across the street for a nice, relaxing fun time. So glad we spent more time in the village instead of driving all over Switzerland, and it was our kids favorite part. Would come back again!"
