Hotel from ipanema 🎶🎶

Stylish old world hotel with nice pool area on the roof - good breakfast and helpful staff. Close to cable car up to taormina or steps down to the beach. Lots of food options nearby - good value

Recommended but comes with some considerations

A bit outdated hotel but friendly staff, tasty breakfast, good rooms, nice location, great view of the area but a tricky parking situation. There are just a couple of parking lots on the property (back to back), so you need to hand over your keys so the hotel staff can move your car around when needed. Otherwise paid parking is nearby (250 meters) for 25 euros per day. We'd still recommend if the above isn't an issue for you.

Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel was very clean and tidy. No wifi in the room. No safe in the room. No fridge in room these were reserved for guests to keep medication refrigerated. Plumbing in the room was very noisy; sounded as if there was constant heavy rain beating against the internal wall. Maintenance was carried out on sunbathing terrace for 4 of the 10 days we stayed. This was very noisy and dusty.Balconies were also out of bounds during maintenance. We have no complaints about the staff but the hotel certainly needs money being spent to bring it up to date.

Great hotel

This was a great hotel. Good size room, very clean. Parking is a bit tricky but that is not their fault. The staff was very helpful with parking. I'd stay again!

Hotel 'Lost in Time' in need of major improvements

Very poor condition for what is supposed to be 4* hotel. So many things wrong with this place. To name but a few; toilet not flushing, fridge not working, shower at pool broken and no toilet. Pool not cleaned. Breakfast very basic no fresh fruit (but artificial fruit display on the breakfast table). Despite mentioning these problems nothing was done, instead I was reminded that the hotel was old. This hotel was clearly a lovely place to stay but that time is long gone. The only good point with the hotel was the view of Mazzaro beach from the balcony. Would have liked to give a nice review but so many things badly wrong here. You would do much better to look for a good 3* hotel before deciding to stay here.

Hotellet er sådan set rigtigt fint, men det er bestemt ikke 4 stjernet, jeg vil nok give det 2.5 stjerner, personalet var søde og hjælpsomme og der var altid rent og lækkert, men badeværelset var gammelt og håndvasken stoppet, toilettet var svært at få trukket ud, morgenmaden var meget kedelig og ikke varieret. Hotel Ipanema er et gammelt og slidt hotel som ville have godt af en kraftig istandsættelse.

Nice Sicilian hotel close to the sea and Taormina

The hotel is located in Mazzarro, from here you can access the beaches down many steps or you can access Taormina by cable car €3 each way per person. You can climb the stepped path up to Taormina in about 20 mins so long as you’re fairly mobile, it is easily achievable‭. We did it every day we were not on an excursion. The hotel has an old Italian charm feel about it. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, they add greatly to the whole experience. Vincenzo and Alfio deserve a mention for their warmth and attentiveness. The ladies on reception were very gracious and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room was kept in a lovely condition throughout our visit. The hotel orientation meant the rooms and terrace had full sun pretty much all day, though the air conditioning was very effective at keeping the room cool. Minor disappointments on the holiday consisted of the hotel pool area on the roof and the roof terrace - due to their location they could have been spectacular instead of feeling a bit tired looking. The picture of the swimming pool for the hotel is not the one on the roof. There is an option to go to the Ipanema beach club for €10 per person per day and the pool pictured for the hotel is here. The hotel plumbing can be quite loud so that a toilet flushed at night can be clearly heard in the adjoining room. All the planned trips taken were filled to capacity and needed a double decker type bus. The groups were too big and unwieldy reducing the enjoyment.

Traditional & lovely, not ultra smart & minimalist

Loved this hotel. It's decor is somewhat old fashioned but it is very clean. Some of the tiles on the sun terrace/pool area are cracked but when you are up there on a lounger among the roses and the birds are singing it just felt right somehow, like comfy slippers. We had a room on the third floor with a little balcony overlooking the bay. Bedlinen and towels changed very regularly. We were half board and the food was very good and all the staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. The hotel is also close to the cable car lift for easy access to Taormina itself.

Viagem rápida para conhecer Taormina

Hotel bem localizado. Ao lado do teleférico. Muito central. Antigo. Estrutura precisa modernizar um pouco. Pessoal bem receptivo com turista que não domina bem o idioma (italiano). Com inglês você resolve o que precisar e os funcionários são muito receptivos e bem treinados neste aspecto. Limpeza muito boa. O que não deixa ganhar nota máxima e ser um hotel mais antigo.
