Two Sisters Adobe - Walk to Plaza, Steam Showers

  • Summary:

Welcome to Two Sisters Adobe, a beautifully updated single-level adobe just steps from the heart of Taos. It's an easy, welcoming home base for everything Taos has to offer

    Surrounding Areas

Two Sisters Adobe sits in the heart of Taos, less than half a mile from the historic Plaza and its galleries, boutiques, and local eateries. At roughly 7,000 feet, summer evenings stay mild, and Taos Ski Valley is about a 25-minute drive for skiing, hiking, and mountain adventure. The Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and Earthships make easy day trips.

    Guest Access:

Guests will have full, private access to the entire home, both yards, the covered back deck, and the private washer and dryer.

Self check-in is available via lockbox, making arrival simple and flexible. Entry instructions are provided before your stay.

Parking is available for up to 3 vehicles, two in the gravel driveway and one in the carport behind the home.

Please note the shared access road behind the home must stay clear, as it provides access to a neighboring lot.

A vehicle is helpful for day trips to Taos Ski Valley and the Rio Grande Gorge.

    The Neighborhood:

Set in a quiet residential pocket of Taos, Two Sisters Adobe offers a peaceful feel with unbeatable walkability. The shops, galleries, and restaurants of Taos Plaza are less than half a mile away, while Taos Ski Valley, the Rio Grande Gorge, and the historic Pueblo are a short drive. At about 7,000 feet, days are sunny and summer evenings stay refreshingly mild.

    Getting Around:

The Plaza is an easy walk from the front door. A vehicle is recommended for day trips to Taos Ski Valley, the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, and surrounding sights, with free parking for up to three cars at the home.

    Other Things to Note:

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, and check-out is by 10:00 AM.

Guests must be at least 21 years old to book.

    This home is not pet-friendly.

    No smoking, parties, or events.

This home does not have air conditioning; it is rarely needed thanks to mild summers at about 7,000 feet. Ceiling fans are provided in the living room and both bedrooms.

For your awareness, an exterior noise-monitoring device is on site to help ensure quiet enjoyment for the neighborhood; it monitors decibel levels only and never records audio.

The home sits on a shared access road that also serves an occupied lot behind the property, common in the Historic District; a privacy fence keeps the home secluded, and the easement should be kept clear.

Great cabin location. Sure it's small and the Murphy bed isn't the most comfortable, but it's so nice having a place with a kitchen and fireplace so close to the slopes

Great location right at the base of ski valley. Loved the fireplace and the hot tub is right next door. Definitely recommend for any ski trip.

Great Location

Great cabin. Sure it was small and the Murphy bed wasn't the most comfortable, but you can't beat the convenience of the location. It's great to have a place with a kitchen and fireplace so close to the slopes.

Great location but outdated accommodation

Great place that is close to the lift, easy check in and totally hassle free, the place needs a bit of an update, the carpet is a bit old, new pans for cooking (worn out teflon pan) not a huge expense and really updates the place, the bathroom is cramped, small toilet and the shower head is for the 5’ and smaller crowd, awesome hot tub and sauna.

Clean, convenient, but small

Very clean, very convenient to ski lifts, firewood provided, etc. But very small! There were two of us adults. With the murphy bed down, and the hideaway bed in the couch out, there was really no room left in the unit. (For a couple this might be just right)

Fine Space, Great Location

While not quite ski-in/ski-out, it was an easy walk to the lifts. The unit is nothing special but it was clean and the property managers were easy to communicate with. We weren't there to spend much time inside so it was perfect for what we needed!

Super convenient to the slopes

This place was located a really short walk to the lifts. We were carrying three pairs of shoes s and a 2-year old and it was so easy to get on the slope, or back to the room for nap time. The room was cozy and warm, and the my kept us well stocked with firewood. We would happily stay there again.

The Taos Ski Valley is amazing. The property was very uncomfortable because the fan was broken. We notified the property 3 times and talked to the manager. Nothing happened. We ended up driving to Taos and getting our own cooling system. We will be back but will choose a different property.

Taos ski valley

Location was great, easy walk to restaurants, shops, etc. Easy enough to check in and check out but the room was (although clean), very cramped and a bit dated. Also don't plan on walking around barefoot inside unless you like stepping on exposed carpet tacking.

Cozy, efficient and right by the slopes

Stayed here with 2 friends on a weekend ski trip and the room had everything we needed with 2 beds (Murphy and pull out couch) and a kitchen fully stocked with appliances and silverware. Pull out mattress had a bit of a sag but I was very comfortable laying my sleeping bag pad on top of it. Fireplace with complimentary wood (perfectly cured I might add) was a great touch after coming off of the slopes.

Exceptionally clean, comfortable and convenient!

This property was as described. It is a very short walk to the Taos Ski resort which allowed us to come and go all day. The unit was super clean from dishes to towels. We stored groceries in the large fridge and cooked several meals easily. Having a fireplace was a nice bonus. The main bed was more comfortable than the sofa bed as expected. We enjoyed our stay here very much!

Ski in Ski Out

Excellent location. Property Manager was very responsive to questions and getting the snow removed from the steps. The condo was fine for a ski trip. The only recommendation is that the sofa bed is not really suited for sleeping on. Had to put the couch cushions on the floor and use a sleeping bag. They were very generous with the firewood. All in all...a great location for Taos Ski Valley.

Great little place but needs some help

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Perfect for 2 people, not more. Couch is old and uncomfortable with seat cushions sinking down and back to where you are seating on the board if you don't constantly pull them out. Curtains behind TV and on door do not provide enough cover and privacy. I had to use a hair clip to keep them shut. Needs some real coffee mugs not just espresso mugs. Needs utility scissors. Needs new pots and pans, the ones there are old and scratched.

Comfortable & Close to Lifts!

Comfortable studio for a couple. It appeared to be thoroughly cleaned and had a gentle scent of cleaning substance when we arrived. The walk to the lift area is about a minute, making it easy to pop in for a break from the mountain. The murphy bed is firm but still a real, reasonably comfortable bed, and it's easy to fold up. With the bed folded up, the main room feels fairly spacious, and the view of the mountain is fun. Kitchen is small but functional and we had all the tools we needed to make simple meals. No cooking staples were provided - nothing more than salt and pepper, but in light of the pandemic we had brought everything we needed anyway. We had no troubles reaching the parking area with a small two-wheel-drive vehicle, and from the parking area it's a short walk around the building to the condo. We did not have personal contact with management, but via text they were quick to respond and courteous.
