"I don’t know anything about the property. I booked the place by mistake via Expedia, and neither the hotel nor Expedia offered any financial relief. It cost 3 days/nights. Instead of the hotel trying to track me down, it was simpler to just register me as a no show and charge for 3 nights."

"From the moment we arrived at this beautifully elevated agriturismo in the heart of the Portuguese Alentejo, we were swept into a different rhythm—one that felt personal, civil, and unhurried, as if we were cherished guests at a friend’s traditional whitewashed farmhouse.
The property itself is a vision: simple and elegant, with classic whitewashed walls that glow in the afternoon light and frame sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from...

"Lovely accommodation in centre of town easy to park this time of year handy having supermarket so close
Would return again but mattresses hard for our old bones
Easy to contact owners re checking in room 6 door lock needs attention had to fiddle to open
This is not a hotel but an apartment would have liked room change more frequently every 2 days?"

"This property is heavenly, a real oasis from the hustle and bustle of busy towns. The service is very attentive, the breakfast is out of this world. They served so much food that there was no room left on the table! We particularly enjoyed the fresh pressed OJ every morning. This place is peaceful, small and gorgeous!"

"Lovely hotel but I can really see why it’s a 4 star! I was by myself and found staff to be very nice and polite. The pinch points were the bar - just hire more staff. There was always a queue. I didn’t go all inclusive but food and drinks I thought was reasonably well ish priced. The other frustration was I got put in a room in the corner which was a bit sad. I understand it was their basic room but it just lacked the luxury a bit.
The local area and cute shops are worth the short walk into town - would highly recommend Botega Italiana - lots of veggie options.
Lovely hotel but just lacks a tiny bit of refinement."
Palácio de Tavira, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World
10/10 Excellent
"This is a five-star hotel. It is beautifully restored and a classic. The staff is very service oriented, friendly and attentive. The location seems to be close to everything. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I will return."
"We had a very enjoyable two-night stay at Vila Galé Tavira Resort Hotel and were impressed by the quality of the hotel and its services.
The hotel was spotless throughout, and our room was spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job, and everything felt fresh and inviting.
The breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious choices to suit different tastes. It was a wonderful way to start each day.
We also enjoyed the spa facilities, which provided a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere after a day of sightseeing. The spa was clean, well organized, and a great place to unwind.
A special touch that we greatly appreciated occurred on our last day. We had an early morning train to catch and would miss the regular breakfast service. When we asked the front desk if it would be possible to prepare a takeaway breakfast, they kindly accommodated our request. They packed sandwiches, pastries, fruit, and water for us to enjoy on the train to our next destination. This thoughtful gesture reflected the hotel's commitment to excellent customer service.
