The cottage was a great getaway destination for a university reunion. Cosy and stylishly decorated. Located very close to the town centre, with all amenities on your doorstep. Drawbacks are the one small bathroom and internal windows to two of the bedrooms which do not have proper curtains and therefore let in light from the stairwell.

A cottage in the heart of Tetbury
Charming old cottage situated in the heart of Tetbury. The cottage was warm and comfortable with a few minor issues that can come with a property of this style. That aside you could not wish for a better situated base to explore this town.

Lovely character property
Such a lovely character property! The light wells make it feel so bright and airy, and we loved the piano – such a thoughtful touch. The location couldn’t be better, with pubs, a chip shop and the town centre all just a short walk away.

A lovely cottage in a convenient location
We had a lovely stay at Elephant Cottage. It is perfectly located in a very convenient location in the centre of Tetbury. The cottage was clean and tidy with everything we needed for a comfortable and cosy stay.
The kitchen and living space are lovely and the bedrooms are a decent size and cosy. The logs for the fire was a nice touch!
Lovely characterful cottage ,very comfortable and nicely furnished. Well equipped kitchen. A few minutes walk from the village centre. Some road noise at night as the cottage is right on the road (we’re not talking about the M1 though!) Enjoyed the roof terrace although getting out and in was a little trick at times!

Wonderful weekend away for a friend's wedding
We had a great long weekend in Tetbury to celebrate with friends, 6 adults in the cottage worked well, great lounge area and a well provided kitchen (it was just a bit of a squeeze in one of the beds, but that is considering half the party were over 6ft tall!) Lovely spot, so close to the beautiful town centre where we walked for breakfast every day and right on the Tetbury Trail for a longer stroll. The roof terrace is a great sun trap all day, enjoyed a morning coffee with a book, and also a glass of wine later in the evening. Our only suggestion would be to up the dishwasher tablets and loo rolls! Thanks so much we had a wonderful stay.

Noisy road
The cottage is as lovely looking as in the photographs. First impressions were very good. We were left a few logs for the wood burner and some essentials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, loo rolls and kitchen towels.
Unfortunately, the cottage is on a busy thoroughfare which meant noisy traffic throughout the day and night. We were aware that the front door opened up to steep steps leading to a narrow pavement however we felt that this could be quite dangerous considering the speed at which vehicles fly past.
Of course this can’t be helped (unless extra glazing to the windows are permitted) but it was such a shame as we couldn’t really switch off due to the noise which could also be heard from the bedrooms.
Our sleep was interrupted by traffic noise but also because the mattresses were uncomfortable. We felt that replacing them could help towards getting some sleep as well as some decent ear plugs.
We also felt that the use of black out fabric instead of voile type fabric could be used to cover the internal hall windows to the bedrooms on the first floor because light floods through from the bedrooms or if the hall way light is on.
The shower was lovely once in it. There was good water pressure and we always had hot water however, we have to agree with another reviewer which pointed out that you need to be quite agile to step in and out of the shower due to the depth of the sunken bath and lack of space to manoeuvre. None of our party have mobility issues but we still had to be very careful. Perhaps the installation of a handrail might help towards steadying oneself.
We really wanted to love our time in the cottage and we did love some aspects of it but unfortunately it wasn’t the relaxing break we were hoping for.
That said though, the cottage is within walking distance to all amenities and the owner was responsive and kindly allowed a later check. It’s just a shame about the noise.

A characterful cottage
A quirky and lovely Cotswolds cottage. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, good location, well equipped throughout and our party of 3 65yr old friends loved our stay.
It is however, in our opinion, worth cautioning that it wouldn’t be suitable for young children, the elderly or the physically disabled as the bath (with shower in) has two high steps up to it, taps to navigate and the screen door can only be moved minimally. Felt hazardous. Also there are 3 steep uneven steps to the front door and steep stairs inside particularly up to the attic bedroom. Please don’t let this put you off if you’re able bodied without young children as it’s so quintessentially costwolds and comfortable and, as I said earlier, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
