Bear Country Cabins: 11 Cabins, Hot Tub, Sleeps 50, & Pet Friendly!
8/10 Good
"We had an excellent stay, there was several things to be aware of when you book. The furnace in the cabins didn't work and had a hard time maintaining heat. The wifi is extremely spotty and can't maintain more then 2 devices on it at a time. Bring blankets if you are visiting in the early part of the year. Also, pay attention to the pictures. Almost all the cabin beds are on the floor. Second, the main cabin doesn't have a vint or range for the stove top, if you cook anything you need to open the windows or door. The humidity in the main cabin is so high that windows fog causing mold. Three of the cabin doors didn't latch so bring some tools. But all said and done, it was spacious, there was room for everyone. It is kid friendly, (minus the stairs) it had play pens that came in extremely handy. It fit our needs."
"This house has the bare bones of what you need for a nice stay in the area with a lot of people. We enjoyed our stay overall. There was plenty of space for our party of 11 and the kitchen was well stocked with an abundance of appliances and tools, which we appreciated. Generally, our stay and check out was pretty straightforward and unfussy, which we appreciated. We had a few snags: the code for check in didn’t work, there were no hair dryers, and one of the showers didn’t work. The hosts were incredibly responsive to solve any issues during our stay. We were very impressed with the effort they went through to help us, though they often seemed confused. The location is not secluded at all, so if you want that then this is not your spot. If you’re used to staying in short term rentals managed by professional hosts for business trips, our experience at this property did not meet that level of detail. This place could easily become its own destination with some tiny improvements, such as, better quality sheets (they’re very pilled and scratchy), a guide to the house itself or even the area, maintenance attention to the house, and some nice touches like an HDMI cord or space heaters for the downstairs in the winter."
"My family and I love the Bear Lake area, and we found Weldon’s property and it was perfect for a quick get away before Thanksgiving. The house, location, and property was perfect, organized, and comfortable. "
"It is a nice location. Pretty condo but there were areas not clean. A lot of dead bugs in corners of living room. Bathroom shower had a big pile of hair spotty dirty shower sheets looked stained and dirty. Listing had coffee maker but didn’t specify that it was a Kerig and no Kerig pods were provided. The outdoor deck light was bright in the house with no option to turn off. The "
Mini Cabins Lodge-Hot Tub! AC! Arcades! Air Hockey and Foosball!
10/10 Excellent
"Check-in flawless, with door code texted day before. Wi-Fi not great. Plenty of parking. Best stocked kitchen in any vacay rental I’ve ever been in. I would absolutely stay again provided the few changes I mentioned to the owner were made. I loved the open space idea. We were a group of 4 adults/4dogs. With all the 4-leggeds it was nice to have open kitchen/family room and lots of lawn outside to which to walk dogs and tether them. The lodge I suspect is meant to be a gathering place for families who stay in the smaller cabins in addition to the lodge itself. as there were tons of chairs, eating surfaces, plates, bowls, 2 fridges, 2 washing machines/dryers inside the lodge-much more than was necessary for those staying only in the lodge. The location to North Beach couldn’t be beat - 7 minutes. The location to dog-friendly beaches at Sage Springs and Mountain Fawn Day Use Area on East side of lake - 20 minutes (unless it’s a Saturday morning in the summer. Then you’re stuck in 15 more minutes of North Beach traffic. Location to Pickleville Playhouse-20 minutes. Word of caution: As kid-friendly as the upstairs bedroom and arcade loft may be, the only way to get up there is by a steep metal spiral staircase, slippery in socks, not suitable for Littles or those unstable on their feet. 3 of the 4 dogs were able to clamber up the spiral. And, the loft and upstairs bedroom get hot. An in-window air conditioner could solve the prob. Hose outside useful to clear sand."
"Overall good. A few suggestions. Towel rack in bathroom fell off the wall. Leave Instructions on how to operate air conditioner. Bathroom door was dirty. "
"We had another wonderful stay in Bear Lake! This was our second time staying in this house and we loved it just as much as last summer. The proximity to North Beach is awesome and the house is very clean and well-appointed. The huge backyard is perfect for lawn games and we really appreciated being able to borrow a paddleboard. We hope to return next summer!"
