"The cottage is fine and it is in a nice location BUT the details of the cottage listed on the Expedia website and Sykes Cottages are different and misleading. Expedia shows the cottage to be within the Penzance city centre & 8 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The cottage is 8 miles (13 kms.) from the Penzance city centre. "Friendly welcoming staff on arrival, at meals and if you want any recommendations about the local area. The hotel is up a fairly steep hill providing great views across the town and harbour. Rooms vary on size but ours was functional and comfortable if rather warm but a fan was provided for the current heatwave. Breakfast offered a great choice from both a buffet or cooked breakfast (cooked to order). We also had dinner in the hotel on our first night as a group of 12 (needed to preorder) which worked well. The pool was a lovely extra for those brave enough to take the plunge! (I’m told it was lovely when you got in!)."
