"My husband and I returned for our anniversary ….we had been there 2 x since we were married there. Property changed hands. We feel it lost some of its ambiance . More modern but less thoughtful decors. Some ergonomic things didn’t work for us in our room such as stairs to different levels. The food wasnt as good as it used to be. We were not happy with menu. Service was GREAT! More memories made!"

"This is a beautiful cabin with a privat garden and stunning sea views. We saw and heard the whales feed from the cabin. Rose cottage has a gorgeous interior, was squeaky clean and the kitchen well equipped with everything one could ever need. Ray welcomed us warmly and gave us a brief introduction to the cottage and surroundings, which was greatly appreciated. We brought our dog along and it turned out that Rose Cottage is most suited, as it has a garden, framed by beautiful landscaping. However, the area is not totally fenced and we had to keep a close eye on our pooch. There is also a busy road behind the cottage, which would be important for dog owners to know. The traffic noice was no problem and could not be heard inside the cottage and was also no issue in the garden, as the property was sheltered by hedges. We loved the various seating areas along the sea front. We saw whales every day and watched the glorious sunsets in awe."

"A perfect stay in a perfect place.In all sincerity I cannot imagine a more perfect vacation rental than Rowan Cottage in Sooke. Not only was the cottage itself absolutely spotless and cared for, quiet, exceedingly comfortable in every bed and chair, fully equipped to ensure a hassle-free stay, in addition to the ease of communication with Kristi and Ray when we needed to find something, but we have NEVER stayed on a more utterly gorgeous property and environment directly overlooking the sea than this treasure of treasures. Being able to spend all day looking out the windows of the cottage (1400 sf, by the way) in every direction across the Juan de Fuca, with sea life bounding and abundant, was pure joy. And the easy walk on the bluff to the private beaches, with strategically placed decks, chairs, tables, tucked in, so that we could enjoy the outdoors while reading or lounging outdoors, made our days there perfect.We will certainly return now that we know it is there."

"The accommodation was beautiful and the views simply stunning. The interior was provided with everything we could possibly want for comfort and convenience and furnished attractively yet with a forest theme.. The exterior has a large balcony furnished with comfortable chairs. It will be our favorite place on the west coast. Thank you to the hosts for proving such a delightful place to visit."

"The property was absolutely incredible. The setting and landscaping were beautiful and peaceful, and it made for such a restorative, soul-refilling weekend.The house itself was incredibly well thought out. We were so pleased with how well stocked the kitchen was, including spices and all the equipment we needed, and there were thoughtful little touches everywhere.Everything felt easy from the moment we arrived. The hosts were communicative, welcoming, and very easy to work with. We didn’t have any issues during our stay, and our only interactions were warm check-ins to make sure we had everything we needed.We would absolutely stay here again."
